Senior leadership caused the turnaround last year not Pruitt.

Instead of winning now UT tells it’s fans to continue to trust the process. Almost like UT is the 76ers of the SEC. It’s gone on for too long and it’s an insult to the fanbase. I don’t care what they do and I barely care enough to watch it happen.

U don't think they would go after Hugh Freeze
Hell no we’re not going after Freeze.

the last time we hired a proven coach it was Johnny Majors and it was only because it was Johnny majors.

when ever next time comes it will be another up and coming guy

Mizzou and UK were OK and Indiana was a bowl win, so you can’t totally discount them. But it was obvious that we mostly were just beating teams we should have beaten.

I think the only SEC team we beat last season that ended up with a winning record was UK. Pruitt has yet to have an upset.

Indiana was a big ten eligible bowl team but they were a bowl team nonetheless.

I do, when Tee Martin signed his contract as assistant head coach it allows the boss “Fulmer” a window to make that move.
Could it be challenged in court? Yes. It’s a gray area. But if Pruitt took it to court it could keep him from coaching until his lawsuit is settled. Plus it would put Pruitt in a position because of the lawsuit awfully hard to find employment.
Here is the wording from the original CJP contract:

“SECTION 1.1. Purpose. Subject to the terms and conditions stated in this Agreement, the University agrees to employ Coach and Coach agrees to be employed by the University as the head coach of UTK's intercollegiate football team ("Head Football Coach").”

it doesn’t seem gray to me.

Two things happened, the schedule got easier, but UT also went on a nice run where they won every 50/50 game.

But the bottom line, after 30 full games, Pruitt is 15-15. That’s below average, period.

I watched A video of Smith speaking to a group about equality. He was passionate. Not so much on Saturdays.

I have stated multiple times, and after the win streak I was beginning to think I was wrong. Appears Tenn football is the latest Pitt Panthers. Former champions, many former All Americans, actually have former coaches in common. Times changed and the university was not prepared. They got lucky with Fulmer, and thought that stradegy would carry on forever. However the SEC changed quickly, and then money caused all of the top programs to change. Tenn never recovered. They will have 8 or possibly 9 win seasons, occasionally will pull an upset (which will convince the fan base they are back) but ultimately will win their historical average of 70%

Uhhh, isn't .500 the exact definition of average?

The good ol' Tennessee November Special. How many years have we had coaches who "right the ship" in November, which of course had nothing to do with Kentucky and Vanderbilt both being scheduled in November (along with the Homecoming game)? Answer: plenty. Heard it all the time. Not that I care about the scheduling approach. But all the time -- "Tennessee figured it out at the end of last season." All. The. Time.

Tee signed his contract as assistant HC after Pruitt signed this. Tee is assistant HC. So with a assistant HC contract this could be done.
Would it hold up in court? Probably not. But would Pruitt tackle it, and make himself non-hirable?

I mean the other option for the university is to continue with Pruitt and his Bud Kilmer attitude towards kids in 2020.
I’m sorry but his scorched earth attitude towards these kids doesn’t work in today’s world.
