So long as they leave CJH alone!!!! We need him Banks and Gardner to see what they can produce with a year taking talent from the portal and building a solid class of their recruits.

Same. It should not being taking this long. Clemson has nothing left to play for. The fact that it hasn't been announced tells me Venables is legitimately having a tough time with the decision. He and his family have been at Clemson for a long time, almost 10 years. They have close friends there and are from what I've gathered from locals, genuinely love the community. He may really not be sure about leaving... Believe it or not, many people embrace the fact that money can't buy happiness.

yea it’s pretty nice for once seeing all these fires and coaching moves………some good, some not as much…………and we get to set here thinking “ahhh we’re good.”

ahh yes just being able to set back and enjoy a good coaching fire and search season.

That’s settling for just enough. All he has to do is make 6-6 every year. Not exactly being confident in the coach that’s given you 10 years

I know everyone says there is no chance CJH goes to Oklahoma, and I repeat...............I don't think he will...........but the only response has been, "GBO"

I am a tad nervous......I can't help it.:confused:

I don’t think anyone knows yet exactly what OU’s plan is on this hire. But I believe Venables would likely be an excellent hire. He is player’s coach, he gets a lot out of his players and OU’s defense has been their Achilles heel. Historically, they have hired a pretty good string of coaches (unlike UT’s past coaches), I think they can recruit well even though OK is not a big hotbed of talent (that is what winning does for you). Also, they are joining the SEC which will help their recruiting even more, particularly in the more western areas of the SEC (including Memphis). I would suggest that one should be careful what they wish for.

I thought that’s who it was gonna be all along, but he made a statement that South Carolina is his dream job and was very detailed about it. Did not sound like coach speak. Who knows!, money talks.

It is. Go back and just look at their history. They've always been quick on the trigger in firing coaches. Jimbo catches no heat this season as he beat Bama. But that same record next year with a loss to Bama could get him run off if not that seat is hot in 2023.

Why is Shane Beamer a legit name for a big time job like Oklahoma? Seems like a desperate move to me if that's where they go.

I’m not worried. Heupel seemed genuinely committed in his interview yesterday. I’ll feel better when OU announces someone else but I feel pretty good
