I stand by an assessment that I made of Arian in the 2005 season. Sometimes it seemed like the only offensive player on the field that actually wanted to compete. That may sound strange to some who think that Arian had a knack for avoiding rather than initiating contact.

He was not a premier back by UT standards. He had some of the worst luck in terms of OL and fumbling than any player that I can remember. All in all he represented the team and the University well and provided a serviceable option in the backfield, nothing more and nothing less.

Veek, my friend. Veek.

I liked Arian Foster. He was pretty slow in terms of UT running backs, but man did he have great vision. That's why we had him on kickoffs. It's actually kind of sad that what will I remember about Arian Foster 5 years from now are the fumbles at crucial times in football games.

I'd rather remember him as the TD machine vs UGA

I would like to see a list of people who came out of high school with 3 stars or less that made a huge impact on UT football.

After this year, we will be able to add Montori Hughes to the list. He was a 2 star and actually wasn't even listed on rivals at all, until UT offered him and he committed, then they added him and gave him 2 stars. He is going to be a beast.

I think it would be interesting to see a tape of all of Arian Foster's runs so that we can actually find out if your analysis holds water. Since we are not going to use any sort of documentation to proove our theories, I will submit that the reason he had so many yards was because he broke to the outside so often. It seems to me that I remember most of his big gains coming because he headed toward the sideline and made a guy miss.

The tape....

That sounds about right to me.

Nice video. I think he has a chance to be a solid career backup (that's not a slam) but he is going to get the ball ripped if he carries it in the NFL like he did at UT.

He should watch some Tiki Barber tape.

Very true. Look what happened to Tiki Barber between 2003 and 2004 when he changed his ball carrying style. He had 10 lost fumbles from 2002 and 2003, and only 4 lost fumbles from 2004-2006.

Thanks for the video. Are you really his mom? If so then I want to say good luck to your family on draft day. I always liked Arian as a running back. He was an incredibly smooth runner with great vision. We at Vol Nation are rooting for him at the next level.

That is her....

Kiffin can put a stop to all these players not qualifying or being kicked off the team by doing better background checks before he gets them on campus.

This morning on ESPN radio they were talking about how NFL teams and companies were making bogus facebook pages to ask players or potential hires to be there friends. With the players they set up a bogus page of a hot young women and when they are excepted as a friend they look through there pages to find as much dirt as they can! I'm sure college teams are doing this as well and I know companies are doing this before they make new hires!!!! Moral of the story is be careful what you put on facebook and who you except as a freind!

Why? Is there a team looking at me for the draft? What have you heard?

Coker and Morley hurt bad. According to Orgeron in Meat Market, Meclendon was the greatest d-linemen prospect since sliced bread.

When did "sliced bread" ever get pressure on the quarterback? Personally, I always thought that SB was to slow. Now, Bagel... Wow. He was a real go getter.
