With all the rush by colleges to make more and more money, I still think they drop the ball on Spring sports like baseball, lacrosse, and softball. Unless you are in Florida, Arizona, Southern California, it is between cold and freezing in most of the country in February and March. Many potential fans are lost.Start the schedules in April 1 and for where it gets very hot in June, every school has lights these days. Just my two cents.

Administrators want students in class and on campus when sports are happening. Plus, They don’t want sports interfering with their summer vacations.

Dont most schools have Summer sessions these days?
Much less attended and certainly not the staffing and students like in Fall and Spring semesters. Plus it would impact Summer camps hosted by the colleges which are vital to the volunteer coaches for income (and is a recruiting tool). Finally, extending the season would impact Summer Leagues.

if they could figure out a way to mitigate these issues, I’d love for TN baseball not to be competing with TN basketball and March madness. Starting the season on March 15th would alleviate the SEC portion of the schedule competing with college basketball playoffs.

I am a big fan of less is more in sports these days—too many games, too many practices/film,meetings, too many teams in playoffs. This goes for college and pro. In college sports, there are too many games vs cupcake teams. Just have less baseball games vs DeVry, Simmons Cosmetology Institute, Central Alaska, etc. and move the regionals and College World Series back. Same with lacrosse. I know Tenn. baseball is an exception, but at many schools, crowds would skyrocket compared to current levels. I get what you are saying about camps, but you would still have a good part of the Summer, plus more and more towns have indoor youth facilities that could be used for camps in Fall and Winter. You could still have Summer leagues for college players with later ending dates and play more doubleheaders. Just my thoughts which added to $ 7 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

This schedule is more of the same.

Since 2018 (8 seasons) Tennessee was sent on the road for the first series six times with the only exceptions being 2022 (SC) and 2025 (FL)

Opening on Road:
2024 (AL)
2023 (MO)
2021 (GA)
2020 (SC) Cancelled
2019 (AU)
2018 (OM)

Compounding the issue. The Vols have closed on the road in five of those eight seasons. Three of those seasons (2018, 2021, and 2023) the Vols opened and closed on the road- like they do again in 2026.

Closing on Road:
2025 (AR)
2023 (SC)
2022 (MS)
2021 (SC)
2018 (MO)

Is Tennessee asking for such a schedule?
Additionally, why is Tennessee a popular opponent for the spring football weekends?
Why is Tennessee seemingly at home nearly every Easter weekend?
