With all the rush by colleges to make more and more money, I still think they drop the ball on Spring sports like baseball, lacrosse, and softball. Unless you are in Florida, Arizona, Southern California, it is between cold and freezing in most of the country in February and March. Many potential fans are lost.Start the schedules in April 1 and for where it gets very hot in June, every school has lights these days. Just my two cents.

Administrators want students in class and on campus when sports are happening. Plus, They don’t want sports interfering with their summer vacations.
