Would Butch survive this? I think he would, but shouldn't.

He would survive that this year but he should have to beat UF, UGA and Bama next year or should be sent packing.

Okay. Lets say he goes 8 and 4 this year. Georgia, Florida, Bama, and LSU are on next years schedule. Maybe he goes 9 and 3 next year. Is that acceptable? I am just thinking out loud. I don't know the answers. Just some thoughts. Some where down the road he needs to go 10 and 2 or 11 and 1.

Of course he would and thats part of the problem. If we finish like GM said, with losses to UF, UGA, LSU and Bama, then that means we go 4-4 in SEC play. That also means in year 5 that will be zero wins against top 25 opponents and yet another 2 losses to SEC West teams. If that scenario plays out then that would be considered a step back.

I'm not wishing for Butch to be gone. I actually want him to be successful. I believe strongly that he is a good man who has done a fantastic job stabilizing the program.

That said, at some point, you have to ask yourself if we are an 8-4 program. I don't b live we are and expect better over a 5 year period. Perhaps you should as well.

How bout some qualifiers:
If we have no more major injuries
If Tuttle is back at 90% or more by game 3
If Wiggins solidifies the secondary.
If Sapp or McDowell solidify the lbs.
If Kongbo can reek havoc up front.
If Kelly and one other are elusive and/or bruising runners.
If Wolfe becomes a better blocker.
If we can have at least 5-8 healthy oline.
If one of our qbs shows accuracy and a little mobility.
If Jennings matures and requires double teams or zones.
If Byrd is proven to be a better wr than cb.
If Daniel continues to be a great weapon.
If Medley can increase his fg accuracy by 5-7 yards.
If Berry is healthy enuf to be a great return weapon.
If Scott calls a great game as OC.

If all of this happen and we get a little luck........
I vote for 9-3.

Ah, thanks. My bad. Guess when he was sitting next to Danny Kannell the one time I heard him talk before, he just became gator-ugly by association or osmosis or something. :)

I was actually being a little snarky.
Saying that a whole lot of things have to go right for this team. We just don't have many proven game changers and playmakers plus a new QB and many new coaches.
But, there is a lot of raw talent.
So, who knows?

Obviously what I think has zero effect on anything, but if we lose to those 4, I'm gonna have a serious problem. Will he survive that? I'm guessing yes. Should he? I would vote No.

A little tv tip for you, my VFL brethren.
Sometimes these hosts are told to take different sides of an issue to argue on tv 📺.
It's all theater.
But, as someone who lives in Georgia, I can tell you that in his heart that Matt Stinchcomb is a staunch Dawg lover who has no love for the Gators, Vols, or any of UGA's rivals.

So they predict we will lose to every team of significance on our schedule. If so that is a very weak 8-4.

Edit: Stinchcomb's prediction of 6-6 is just stupid.

Not only did all 3 of them predict those losses.
There was no discussion of those games.
They were foregone conclusions that we will lose to Bama, UF, UGA, LSU.
The toss up games were considered to be at Kentucky and at Missouri. Mac says we win them...HENCE HE SAYS 8-4. Stinch says we don't.....hence his 6-6 prediction. :eek:hmy:
