The SEC runs its mouth about Tennessee showing sportsmanship but doesn't ask Ole Miss to show sportsmanship, and doesn't ask its officials to show sportsmanship either. They can flat out steal points from your team and they'll tell you to take it and behave like a good little child. Never forget that.

Now let’s close the book on this one. And that includes stopping whining about the obviously horrendous officiating. We got a big game coming up in under five days and that has to be our focus. Saturday is gone and nothing we say or do will change anything. Going forward, if the University catches anyone throwing stuff on the field, escort them out of the stadium and drop the ban hammer.

Why wasn't Ole Miss subjected to fines when dozens of their fans (if not more) threw trash at our basketball players...

Not saying that we should get off but a precedent is a precedent...

They were. We just didn't hear about it. Every school is fined for such incidents.

Dang?! Fans should have just rushed the field, would have been less expensive.
Hate that a few non-thinking, led by emotions, call them what you will, made the headlines to the game.
Yeah, me too. Really, I've not been in a good mood since the incident. Then when my boss came in this morning, he said "I figured you would come in with a bag on your head." Now, every time I pass him in the hall, he calls me "litter bug."

I didn't watch until near the end, but could anyone enlighten me on what all happened?...I know a lot of it was Kiffin, but the fourth down was conclusively short based on the replays they showed, and that's when they started throwing stuff...What else happened that got them to that point?
What set the tone was early in the game the refs screwed TN by taking a fumble recovery for TD off the board. The play was never whistled dead but the declared it so afterwards and it was still wrong. Then a number of bad spots in the game culminating on that pivotal 4th down. The refs weren’t in a good position to see and they gave a bad spot yet still measured. The thing is that you couldn’t tell based in the the replay on the Jumbotron that the receiver had the ball tucked and it looked like he had the first down, or at the very least a better spot than they gave us. But they didn’t move and remeasure. It appeared to be another screw job. That on top of the 30+ fake injuries from Ole Miss to stop our offense and players taunting fans. The students started throwing drinks and then it spread to some other sections

It all started in the 1st quarter. The refs spotted a pass down short of the first down when it was clear that we made it. The ref that called it could not see the ball. Then the refs took a scoop and score off the scoreboard that clearly showed we scored. They said the QB progress was stopped. How is it stopped when we got to him and made him fumble? Look it up. The play in the 4th quarter was a combination of all of it.

And us complaining about it does absolutely zilch to move the needle. All we can do as a program is win games. I am sure Heupel and White have made their most effective statements to the league possible. Not that that will probably change anything but it has a 100% better chance than a drunken temper tantrum. The only ultimate solution is to eventually become one of the favored teams and the only way to do that is to win enough to become a cash cow for the SEC the same way Bama and Georgia currently are. Sad but realistic

Witch Doctor believe Larry Pratt has more than that in his Glove box. Witch Doctor say the bigger insult is they already had robbed us during the game.
Witch Doctor say curses all. Witch Doctor admit, really liking JH. Go Vols

PS impressed with how civil Kiffen spoke and even bragged on our fans, and Knoxville. He sees what he lost and what could have been.

I believe it was a culmination of the whole night. Lane first walks out onto the field and gives a smartass wave to the Tennessee fans. Ole Miss players throwing insults at UT Students in the student section. The scoop and score touchdown for UT that was called back. The fourth down call where he was short. Alcohol fueled all day long before the game.
Grown men need to act like grown men....thats still no excuse for what happened Saturday.

Very true. It’s the perpetual cycle of shame, fear, and control. Very unhealthy. Sadistic even

Sec network and espn should be fined for the infomercial and recruiting help they gave Kiffin. The air time he got is worth more than ut’s fine. Glad to say the only time I watch that pathetic network is when there is a college football or basketball game on .
