Exactly we beat UGA in regulation they did nothing to stop us except watch a missed FG as time expired, that should be a give me. if you're a P4 kicker, no excuses.

I think officials get intimidated by coach's the media have made future HOFers. Kirby knocked the $hit out of MSU QB and official right beside him , crickets. Kirby calls a Timeout and talks the official out of awarding the TO and still gets the unofficial TO with no ramifications. Officials become officials because they are big fans of the sport and just not good players. Then they get to officiate games and are around ppl that they admire and are their heroes. Most officials I believe try to call it right but some are intimidated and smitten like a teenage girl seeing a matinee idol.

not SEC conspiracy theories, but I 1000% percent believe that some refs have fixed NCAA basketball games to get matchups the networks want or at least bet on certain games.

Tennessee vs the Big Ten in the tourney in particular

- Ohio St getting touch fouls every drive to the basket in the Elite 8 in 2nd half, when we were up by almost 30. There is no way anyone watches that game and doesn't see it
- Michigan St getting late calls to keep us from Elite 8
- Michigan getting calls late when UT was making a comeback and having a shot to pull off upset
- Purdue the 1st game when the refs gave them that foul which was 100000% BS call
- Purdue and that mongoloid FT merchant in the 2nd game

that's at least 4 final four appearances and possibly 5 cost to us by bad officiating including very costly "unusual" calls late

I must say, Freeze got a very raw deal this year at the Barn. Do I believe the SEC office or others set a mandate to oust him? Not really. Just poor officiating.

I do believe we (Tennessee) conspired or pushed to have Florida’s SEC championship pulled away in ‘85 leading to our Sugarvols.

I do believe Fulmer conspired to get Bama in trouble but, I’m not certain he did that in exchange for the SEC/NCAA to turn a blind eye to us.

That game pisses me off. We should have beat Bama 3 years in a row. Saban looked dazed and confused at halftime.

And it's busting out all over. It was completely predictable. Gambling was basically brought in on the "honor system". Only a fool couldn't see how it would metastasize into a terminal disease.

The SEC needs to "open mic" the replay booth/ the head official like the ACC does. That would help me with some of my suspicions.

I'd like to see the officiating teams be random every week. I don't like a crew that works together all the time.

I'd love for the television broadcast to list all the officials participating in the game during the 1st quarter.

I'd like to be able to do a internet search and see who is officiating SEC games. It's almost impossible to find referee assignments pre-game.

I know at least 2 head officials that attended the university of alabama. David Smith (QB) was a team captain and Sun Bowl MVP for the tide, Steve Marlowe is also alumni and lives/works in Birmingham, James Carter was born in Selma and lives/sells insurance in Birmingham. These 3 have reffed several of our games through the years. Don't tell me they always "call it fair" when the VOLS are concerned.

Steve Shaw was head of SEC officials for years and guess what..... he's in the alabama Sports Hall of Fame (also UA alumni). He's currently the national coordinator of officials and chairman of the rules committee.

In basketball, Pat Adams is from Mobile, al and gets assigned to VOLS games regularly.

That's just a few off the top of my head but how many more officials (line judges, umpires, review members, etc.) are gumps????


******If the SEC is a "clean" league, what would it hurt to investigate the league office and all the officials? The fans deserve some transparency, especially with what they are expected to spend on college football. IT'S ALL CONSUMER DRIVEN


Officials should not be allowed to officiate their rivals.


College football is a billion dollar a year business. Why have part time officials???

Gambling on "amateur" sports should be banned.

Kirby too, don't trust him one little bit. He has friends in high places. He talked down to Sankey like he was his biotch and nothing was said Sankey cowered like a little pup at that press conference last year a few reporters mouth was agape but Kirby has some stuff on some influential ppl you can guarantee that.

I’m old enough to remember when the NFL manufactured the replacement officials just so they could make it look ugly enough to get the crooked officials back.

The leagues will do this from time to time just so that they can fall back on “this is the best option” as referees fix events.

Very true, but there was also an officiating decision earlier in the game that was just as egregious. Ernest Graham was credited with scoring a touchdown when replays clearly showed his knee was down at the Vols 2. It was just as obvious as the Gaffney play.
