SEC Bylaw 10.5. needs to go

Simply put, it’s insane that coaches or institutions can’t speak their mind about officiating. After the year the SEC has had, if they’re not going to fix the officiating issues or even acknowledge them, then schools and coaches should have the right to call it out.
Which would accomplish as much as the current environment

I don't think they are biased they are just bad at their jobs.
It doesn't help their case that we have instant replay technology. Clearly, mistakes will always be made. But when we have the ability to highlight those mistakes, and replay them over and over and over and dissect them to the minuscule...it's almost not fair to the refs.

There needs to be a review process called down from on high to spot, assist, recall, or whatever, questionable calls. I'm not suggesting we should spot watch for every offensive holding - that would make for some very long games. But some things like, offensive pass interference when Brazzel clearly did not push off, should be reviewable.

Or maybe not...the games might start extending to 4+ hours!!

You don't have the faintest idea what you are talking about. The officials are graded on every play in every game and evaluated at the end of the year. Some have been suspended for a number of games and the worst ones are terminated. The SEC doesn't give a list at the end of the year so we don't know who were . Most quitely go back to the Southern or OVC officiating.

One problem the SEC has is like the Chattanoogas, Citadel, and UABs of the world with coaches. If they have a really good official guess where he is going in a few years. Yep you guessed it, the NFL where the pay is a lot better and they have a pension. When I knew a bunch of officials in Atlanta in the 80s and 90s the SEC had no retirement plan, don't know if they do now or not but I am sure if they do it can't touch the NFL benefits.

As for throwing games it's almost impossible to do so these days with all the safeguards built in including background checks(NFL is like going to work for the CIA and SEC is almost as rigorous.) and video replays Also they are monitored for any suspicious big ticket purchases. If you are on the take put the cash in a hole in your backyard until 5 years after you retire.:)

PS- also difficult to throw a game because Vegas is constantly looking for suspicious bets with their ultra sophisticated computer systems.

I have gone to Vol games for 75 years and the only game I ever saw that I thought was thrown was the MCB against North Carolina by BIG officials.
I stopped reading when your first sentence established you were an *******.

no what I'm saying is that the only thing that will work is if ALL THE COACHES in the SEC make a joint statement on the issue. If just one coach goes up the the podium like a hot head then he's just going to be viewed as a sore loser and gain further trouble with the refs.
The coaches don't need to get together for a pow wow. The SEC administration needs to do something. The coaches are the "response" to something that is not right. I bet 99.999 percent of all the coaches would never, ever complain about the officials if the officials called decent games. This in not a "coach" problem.

dude do you know how bad that would look if an actual coach got on national TV and was like wah wah wah Georgia gets all the calls and I don't! it would be an immediate hit to their coaching reputation and make them look like Mike Gundy level bad. it's just not a good look for a respectable coach they would immediately lose respect in the eyes of all the other coaches in the country. the memes that would be created and how that would be used against you in recruiting?

Hugh Freeze has a legitimate argument after last Saturday's 💩 show. Everyone saw it and everyone agreed it was either gross incompetence or something else.

dude every team's fans think the calls are rigged against them. you sound EXACTLY like every Bama fan and Georgia fan I know. they all pick out the "rigged" calls that cost them a win. If a coach stands up there and publically calls out the refs not one damn thing will be done by the league except to hand down a fine.
Let me say it again. It's not a "coach" problem. I can't make it more simple than that.

well it's VERY PUBLIC already and the SEC is very protective of it's image so you'd think they would clean it up but they won't at least not publicly because they will never say publicly that there's an issue with the officiating. whatever happens will get handled behind the scenes

Referees in MLS soccer make between 125,000 to 250,000, plus expenses, depending on seniority and location (i.e. California), more than twice as much as your average SEC official, with a one-year contract, with no guarantee of returning. There is a full video review of each game by a U.S. Soccer evaluator, and too many mistakes, or even as little as one BIG screw up in a match with playoff implications and that's it, your career is toast. Considering the money machine that is SEC football, you would think that they would develop a program for aspiring officials and get rid of the "good ol' boy" situation that still pervades the sport where who you know is as important as WHAT you know.

why? why would the SEC based in Alabama want Georgia to have all the advantages?

what harm is there to the SEC if Auburn beats Georgia?

wouldn't they want to go after Georgia so that Bama wins instead?
Maximize playoff teams from the big brands.

Auburn was already on life support with two losses. Sankey and co have their list of playoff contenders.

He made such a huge deal about getting the SEC multiple auto bids into the CFP. Don’t you think he would be pulling strings to get the biggest brands in too?

Texas, Bama, UGA all get it soft. Everybody else has to work up hill to get the top execs to support them.

It’s why we are going 10-120 this weekend while bama will get called for a single hold in the 4th after they are ahead by two scores. It’s a rigged game and you know it. Any semblance of balance or fairness is completely out the window after this past weekend.

Truth hurts hunh? Is anything i said not true. You dont know jackshit about SEC Officials.

Just for the record have you ever known a SEC official?
I don't think I need to personally know an SEC official to know that my eyeballs see the same repeat-offending dingleberries on TV every week. Nobody is sure what you're getting at.

Ironic, that is what a ref does, he calls out a player for making a mistake, throws a flag. He will even call the coach out by doing the same thing. Someone needs to call the refs out and throw some flags when they mess up.

The refs weren’t the problem on the goal line play on the auburn game. That was a close quick play. But upon review you got to get it right. Teams should get a number of challenges for review each half. And the reviews should be for whatever type of play or rule under question. But once you have used your limit any review has to be done from by the review team upstairs. Refs have a tough job a lot of times, no shame to have to go for review. But there is no excuse for the review crew to get it wrong. If you don’t see enough to overturn it simply stays with ref call. But to get a review clearly wrong should never happen. You might not be able to tell or have a good view, that’s just a bad break. But no excuse for the review to clearly miss. GBO

You mean like Kirby bullying refs in on the field into giving him a free reset of the playclock and not charging him his timeout? That **** needs to be called out. Auburn should be able to blast that.
Ref should have told him you can either take a timeout or a delay of game, take your pick. SEC should put a substantial fine, like $100K or more against Kirby for that action.

Giving the refs hell during the course of the game is one thing and is part of the game.....Getting a mic in front of your face and blasting the refs for all the world to see and hear will make you a marked man...That's the facts.
