SDS not high on 2020 Vols

I was surprised that they thought UT would lose to UK.

A lot of the picks were head scratchers beyond this pick.

And they can't even fall back on basketball against us anymore lol.

We've been more relevant in basketball the last 15 years.
5-5, 4-6, maybe 6-4 is where the Vols should wind up.

I would think with the talent we have, the Vols should play Jeff Fisher ball and win 13-10 whenever they can. Let the air out of the ball and pound the rock. Don't put it in the qb's hands to win or lose the game. Win the line of scrimmage, the turnover margin and the kicking game.

We will beat Kentucky, South Carolina, Mizzou, Arkansas, Vanderbilt.

We will lose to Bama, GA

We win at least one of Texas A&M, Auburn, Florida.

That would be 6-4 or 7-3. Totally reasonable assuming the injury bug and COVID doesn't decimate game day rosters.

I’m thinking we do 5-5, though 4-6 is definitely a possibility if someone upsets us. We have 5 games we should win, and 5 games we should probably lose. Hopefully we pull some upsets though.

As much as I like the group over at Saturday Down South, I have to agree that this article was written with a lot of bias based upon just the feelings of the writer with very little research done...almost like an editor said "Crap we need to fill a page, quick go write down your feelings on how the SEC season plays out !".
To his one point though...we are 2-20 something against Top 25 teams and play 6 of them this year...but can you really count all of them as Top 25 this year (seriously, if it were a regular year I doubt we start out in the T25)?

I'm with everyone else (barring injury or COVID killing us), 5-5 is likely the floor, 6-4 is most likely and still shows some progress, 7-3 shows much progress, 8-2 would have me completely all sold on this coaching staff and roster.

This jerk just read the headlines from the past 10 years and chose a number .... I will give him an F for effort and a F for knowledge

I mean, it's not crazy to think UK could beat us. I certainly wouldn't bet on it (given they are to us as we are to Florida) but if Wilson had been healthy they would have beaten us last year.

They have Ole Miss beating LSU. Enough said!!!
That may not be quite as far-fetched as you'd think. LSU will probably be more beatable this year.

LSU was 8th in scoring D and 9th in total D. Their O behind Burrow pressured almost every opponent out of their game plan.

I personally do not think much of O as a HC. I just don't think he's particularly bright or talented.

It would be amazing if they found another Burrow... but unlikely. I don't know much about Ole Miss... but LSU is unlikely to be nearly as good.

Running the ball is great.

Please no Fisher ball. That is a guaranteed 5-5 or 4-6 season.

Don't get why everyone is so high on Kentucky. We beat them last year on the road. And they lost the guy who accounted for almost half of their offensive production (#1 rusher, #1 WR, and #2 QB).

Also funny how they picked us to have a bad record because we did poorly in the past decade against Bama, Georgia, and Florida, but somehow they still pick Kentucky over us even though we've been beaten them 7 out of the last 8 times during one of the worst eras in program history.

Not saying Kentucky will be a cakewalk, but just not getting why they are such a trendy pick this year.

I think blowing out a big east team in Louisville and besting Va Tech (who had a top 25 win and beat UNC) the bowl game is trumping out beating of UAB....??? That all I can figure..

Writer is an Indiana University grad (butt hurt from bowl) and lives in Florida. Opinion ain't worth jack $hit
I think we'll beat UK, but this part is kind of hard to argue with:

"A 2-10 record vs. AP Top 25 foes in the past 3 years doesn’t bode well, nor does the aforementioned struggles against the rivals. I mean, 3-27 against Alabama, Florida and Georgia in the past decade screams 'let’s see it before we believe it' with those 3 matchups."

We aren't going to get much respect until we do something about those marks and the no wins against Top 10 teams since 2006 or whatever.

Guess they are trendy because the guy they are getting back at QB is supposed to better then the guy that replaced him last year. My thoughts there though are they are getting a QB back off a major injury that hasn't played a down of SEC football in almost 2 years...

I think we would have massacred them more than the previous season...when he played.
