Scout CFN prediction- closer than we think?

I don't think the front 7 are as unsettled as this guy believes and Dooley has let people believe. There's a little concern at DT but the DE's are very good. Martin, the bonus player, has outstanding ability. If he stays healthy, he could end up being UT's most talked about player.

I really hope the team doesn't over look Montana like our fans are.
I think everybody knows that we're still at a point where we can lose to anybody but at the same time you can't analyze Montana and pretend there's still not a talent and depth gap. Before the coin toss, they've got about 20 less scholarship athletes dressed out. That's hard to overcome.

The writer isn't accounting for depth. Montana will play us close in the 1st qtr, but will fade.
UT up by 10 at the half....then it will get ugly. CDD will show mercy, but it will still be ugly.

Notice there is no line on the game.

Actually, there is (UT -28).

i seriously doubt they will overlook a season opener. They have been looking forward to it all offseason. Who cares if the fans think it's a win. They are supposed to.

I was talking about the no-line that was given at the bottom of the article after the writer's score prediction

Who is giving -28 line? That is a good line...Hard to bet because mercy starts to take effect in the 28 point range.

This team is a loaded question mark, period. We need to come out and own the Grizz and Cincy but we could sputter for sure. One thing I am glad to know is that by the last scrimmage we were putting together long drives against a D that included JJ. If we are putting together long drives in the 1st quarter against the Grizz they will be done by the half like we were against OR. Best case for them they play like a team possessed like we did against OR, which still ended as a blow out.

I'm sorry, but this is not going to happen - "The Grizz defense should be aggressive enough and active enough to force the Vols to be one dimensional." - and if it does happen we're in BIG TIME trouble.

Agree. As long as we keep turnovers in check, we should win by at least 4 TDs. It should be good prep for both teams. They won't be a pushover for the first half but can't hang with us. Griz won't see a stronger team the rest of the year. VOLS will see where they need to improve before Cincy & Gators.

Montana's secondary is for real. Their corner Johnson will be in the NFL. Bray will throw a couple picks and this game will be interesting for longer than I'd care for it to be.

I almost guarantee this board will be melting down mid second quarter.

This! Montana has a good squad, but depth will eventually get to them I think. Will be an interesting first half of football, then we should pull away in the second half. I trust in DD and he'll have the boys ready to play. just don't be surprised if we (the fans) are in panic mode in the middle of the second quarter.

We are a young team and will be feeling ourselves out most of the first half.

I expect a close game about 10 points at halftime, and us to blow it open late in the 3rd QTR early 4th Qtr and to win by 17-20. This won't be because we are a bad team, just because we will be learning on the fly these first few games...just have to find ways to win and get better right now.

This won't be UT Martin last year I promise you that.

This is about right

They really seem to have faith in that montanada front 7. I really don't think they are fast enough to be a major factor.

WOW! Using UT's stats from last year and comparing those with Montana's stats from last year to come up with a game prediction!?

Talk about comparing apples to oranges.

Morgan Newton has a better chance of winning the Heisman then Montana keeping the game at 28-21.

Really?
I could see it close the 1st half, but I would be very surprised if we don't wear them down and run away with it in the 2nd half.
