Scott Frost or Dan Mullen??

Frost

Somewhat unproven, but huge upside and certainly an improvement over Butch.

Mullen would be a clean safe hire...... But I'm not sold he can take Tennessee to the next level......frost may not either but there certainly is the chance he could be a huge hire.
There is certainly the chance that Mullen at a place like UT could be a huge hire too.

So he has mediocre results at a historical loser program? Winning at a rate of 15-17% points higher than program all time average is mediocre?

I’m sure you think James Franklin was mediocre at Vandy too.

Butch was an over-achiever at Cincinnati.

Mullen. He has the chops. We just had "the next big thing". I want proven track record at this level.

Lol. When was Butch a hot commodity on the coaching market? Florida, Nebraska and Tennessee are all interested in Frost.

No he wasn’t..... he literally did nothing of significance there.

By the standards that you continue to quote for Mullen, Butch was an overachiever at Cincinnati. He had a better record there than they historically have.

Frost likely to Nebraska and Mullen likely to Florida.

We will probably end up with a guy like Brohm, Norvell, or Campbell when the dust settles.

Meanwhile Florida will hit a grand slam and Frost will waste away in Nebraska.

Look at the period before he was coach. That program took a step back after Kelly left. Butch took over an 11 win team and went 4-8 his first year. Mullen has literally taken MSU to new heights and levels that MSU has never done.

Name one thing Butch did at Cincy that was never done prior to his arrival.

He didn’t take them to a BCS Bowl
He didn’t win a conference title
He didn’t set a wins record in his tenure there
He didn’t get them to their highest ranking

Butch did NOT over achieve at Cincy. Keep trying though.

I'd rather take a relatively unproven yet promising frost over a proven and not-so-promising Mullen

I swear the complete ignorance about Mullen on this board is beyond insane. He would be a GREAT hire for us.

I'm just using the same metrics that were quoted for Mullen.

No you’re not. Also, why compare Mullen’s 9 years to Butch’s 3 years. Compare their time in the SEC since 2013 when they both were active coaches in the league.
