School sucks

we did just hire some girl who used to do fashion modelling, she looks and is built like a freakin model too. My unit is probably bigger around than her arm. I mention this because she may be the last best hope, and she isn't even single.
take her to dairy queen a couple of times a week for a few months and then make your move....those hip bones can be sharp!:pepper:

Oh I know, she is only slightly smaller than a girl I dated back in the day. I am a big fan of girls I can throw.

I'm in a public speech class this summer too, not my cup of tea, stupid requirements.

So you taking Organic Chem next? I hear it is the hardest class in the history of mankind regardless of where you take it.
Actually, the hardest course on earth ever was my third semester of advanced Physics. We dubbed the course, about halfway through, simply "Magic" because there is no way that any math 'splained what was happening in there.

I didn't take this exactly class, of course, but I think that I am going to agree with this over the organic chem part.

You sure it wasn't that freshman English class you found so challenging?:)

I think conceptually, a lot of physics can be challenging. When I was a sophomore, electricity and magnetism kicked my butt. I think organic chem is hard simply due to all the memorization involved.

I thought the memorization what actually what made Orgo bearable.

It's just not my strong suit.
good or bad memory, you could not blow off Orgo. I blew off much of my math and engineering stuff because once I understood it, no need to go further. If I understood it before starting, no need to even crack the book. I'm all about that kind of learnin'.

Confession time: I had intentions of going into Chemical Engineering when I started school. The last chapter or two of my second semester freshman chemistry class was a brief intro into organic chemistry.

I decided Mechanical Engineering sounded pretty good. I had already fulfilled all the chemistry requirements without taking a full semester of organic chemistry.

I was going to do computer engineering... then I realized all the programming it required. (YUCK!)

So now I have a BSME. :)

Wow, I am in that same boat right now.

I will say this for having a degree in ME. There is a lot of range in the types of jobs you can get.

Yup. You can design the little latches that hold up the tray on the back of an airplane seat... or you can be a project manager for a Mechanical Sub. :)

Okay, if I can just get through this speech today (and I mean that, just get through it) I will have a high B for the course. I love professors that drop low grades and double high ones, especially when it is a possibility that he will drop the highest weighted grade.

you have to take organic 1 and 2 before biochem....so yeah, I've done my time in organic.

I actually found Biochemistry the most difficult class in both college and medical school. So much rote memorization and work that I knew would be quickly forgotten. I accept that the principles are important, but I think there are better ways to understand them, and better uses of students' mental energy and time.

And it allows you to be able to buy things like...a chick car! :birgits_giggle:

I took a couple of physics classes and didn't think they were all that tough. Organic chem at UT has nearly a 50% failure rate and probably around half the students are taking it for the second time. It's the class that prevents most kids from going to med school. I'm not sure how it used to be, but that class has definitely earned its reputation in recent years.

I'm making an A in mine right now. :p What is your speech on?
