Schiano

Too bad we can't go up there in the next few years and play the "Superfund State."

If we had hired Schiano (pronounced Sheet no!) two seasons ago, I seriously doubt he would have outlasted Chad Morris tenure in the SEC.
He would have been fired within three seasons and ESPN along with the SEC Network and CBS Sports would have said the Tennessee football program is finished

Anyone notice how nasty this thread has become? This is exactly the response UT would have gotten, had Currie been successful. Thanks John!

I like how Pruitts record of 12-12 is written as a jab but Schiano’s past record, in a $hitty conference is written as a compliment. Anyone who puts any stock into today’s media, regardless of the subject matter, is a d@mn fool and sheep.
GBO!!
The media worships anyone involved with or who has been involved with the Ohio State football program:rolleyes:

LOL at OP as I guess the first two posts were not facetious??

this needs to go to Off-topic because it has nothing to do with Tennessee football.

Went and checked out the link to the rutgers rivals forum posted on the second page of this tread, makes any other SEC fourm look like a bunch of NCAA geniuses.

Almost makes you pity.

Best fan-base ever to stand up to the Schiano trainwreck..

Also a lot of jabs at NJ here. It’s a great state. Tons of football talent. Unfortunately Fans are more into pro sports and care far more about the giants and jets. rutgers has never gotten support even remotely close to Tennessee. With that said though they are desperate and schiano is by far the best hire they can make. Even if he wins 7-8 games a year that’ll be great improvement and a reason to watch

Southern NJ is fabulous in most cases. Once you hit Trenton going north, it has earned its reputation, Newark in particular.

They can't afford to keep him. Can't afford to fire him.
Let's see how the recruits line up based on a big thumbs up endorsement from Herbstreit about their
world-class hire.

Shame on UT. o_Oo_Oo_O
Good move by Tennessee not hiring him...he wasn't a fit...outside of Penn State stuff, his personality was too much like the coach we just fired...the rah-rah, chop wood, row the boat stuff, motto coach speak wouldn't have resonated in the least bit in Knoxville after 5* Hearts/Champions of Life...in addition to toxic reports coming out of Tampa Bay.

That being said, he's a FIT for Rutgers. He's from NJ, knows all the high school coaches, and did a great job...as he will again, keeping alot of the talent in state. NJ ranks #9 with # of players on NFL rosters, so there's talent if he can keep them from going to Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, and SEC. Biggest problem is, HS football is pretty legit, but no one cares about college football, and gets no media coverage...it's all about Giants, Eagles, Jets...though those three are playing more like Rutgers this year.

If you want to support a coach who turns a blind eye to kids being molested and abused go right ahead, have fun trying to sleep at night. Rutgers will suck until the end of time and I'm looking forward to Schiano miserably failing

Heresay at best. He’s not a great coach imo but let’s not accuse him of something where no proof exists
