Schiano denies knowledge of Sandusky

If he did know, he reported it to an older coach(Tom Bradley). Maybe he now doesn't want to admit it and embarrass the older coach because it really serves no purpose. The McCreary guy already implicated Bradley as having been told.

Schiano was a young coach in his 20's, at his first job. Maybe he thought that he did all that was necessary by going to an older coach, and maybe he thought that nothing else happened again while he was at PSU. I don't know the answers, but I can't convict the guy. It's not like he was in the shower with Sandusky and a boy.

Wow so now Tom Brady is in on this?

If it were your son Schiano allegedly saw with Sandusky in the shower and then did nothing, would you still want him as head coach?

We don't know what Schiano allegedly saw

And for me I wouldn't have been leeting my young child hang out at ANY college football facilities without a member of my family or a babysitter with them.

It simply does not matter what the circumstances were. There are better candidates available and UT does not need the exposure one way or the other.

"Schiano denied any knowledge of abuse in an official statement on Tuesday: 'I never saw abuse, nor had reason to suspect any abuse, during my time at Penn State,' he said in a statement released by ESPN's Adam Schefter on Twitter."

Now, can we stop the negative rumors? I am not sold on him, but the anti-rumors are largely unfounded.

No and you and anyone else who wants this scumbag at Tennessee, can piss off.

I don't want to insult you, but you really need to re-evaluate your life. It's great that you have the option of having a babysitter or family.

These kids were lucky to eat once a day.

Nice. It’s the parents’ fault the kids were raped. They were just asking for it.

Blame the victim...typical perpetrator tactics. The lady doth protest too much, methinks.

I'll let the justice system worry about convicting him or not, if it comes out he knew. My interest is purely the Volunteer football program. Anyone from that Penn State staff is potentially tainted. Fair or not, Tennessee can't afford that kind of risk right now.

If he becomes coach I'm done with UT football until Davenport and Currie are gone.

I will assume, unless proven otherwise, that Currie and others did their due diligence with whatever coach gets hired, Schiano included. I would prefer Mullen or Cutcliff, frankly. Maybe even Tee or Leach (but he is such a loose cannon). But if he is the guy, he is the guy and as a dyed-in-the-orange-wool fan, supporter, and alumni, I stand behind him until it is proven that he had ANYTHING to do with that s**t. As he has not be sanctioned, convicted, or anything else, and as Ohio State (a university I despise, but one that would not allow such a scandal to be on their hands) has not protested, I have to assume he has no culpability in the matter.

But please, Big Orange Football deities, bring me someone else.

Since the testimony from McCreary was that "in the 1990's" an assistant coach came to another coach (Tom Bradley-now def coord for UCLA) with the news about Sandusky being in the shower with a boy, and Schiano left PSU in 1995, maybe that is why he left.

Maybe he reported it, got the first available job, and got out of town because nothing was done about it. Maybe he figured that if he went to the police, and nobody backed up his story, he wouldn't be believed. At the time, Paterno was like a god up there, and Sandusky had been his right hand man for many, many years. After all, he was a young coach in his 20's at his first job. He probably had a wife and family to support (he now has 4 children), and may have been afraid of being blackballed in the coaching profession.

I am not quite as quick to judge what he did or didn't do without walking a mile in his shoes.

So we want a guy that allowed boys to be raped for fear of being blackballed? Yeah, no thanks.

Hmmmm, let me ask you something...

Do you seriously think he or anyone is going to admit to knowing a peer was raping little boys and decided not to report it? Come on man. Of course he's going to deny knowing it.

Why would someone testify under oath the GS knew about it? Because they hated him? Why didn't this same person claim even more knew about it? Why just GS and a couple of others?

My guess is he at least suspected but was too worried about winning and getting promoted than he was about protecting innocent kids.

Yeah that's the guy I want coaching my favorite college team.

Doesnt matter. His name is forever associated with a child abuser. How old he was and what his family situation was is irrelevant. You dont turn your cheek on people getting abused. Schiano is grade A trash.

If he knew it he should have reported it to the police. If that didn't stop it he should have went to the press. If that didn't stop it he should have beat the ever living f..k out of Sanduskey, Paterno and every other piece of crap that did know.

If he chose his career over stopping the raping of young boys he is a big of a piece of s..t at Sanduskey.
