Schiano denies knowledge of Sandusky

I don't want anyone that was anywhere near that Penn State disgrace. Maybe he knew about it, maybe he didn't. I don't care. After the title 9 mess we can't afford to be wrong about him. We can't really know for sure, so he's out. You take Kiffin back before hiring him.

"Schiano denied any knowledge of abuse in an official statement on Tuesday: 'I never saw abuse, nor had reason to suspect any abuse, during my time at Penn State,' he said in a statement released by ESPN's Adam Schefter on Twitter."

Now, can we stop the negative rumors? I am not sold on him, but the anti-rumors are largely unfounded.

If he's hired you burn the mo fo down!

Did the OP read the rest of the story? This line includes McQueary's sworn testimony, "When asked whether Bradley provided any details about what Schiano reported to him, McQueary replied, 'No, only that he had -- I can't remember if it was one night or one morning, but that Greg had come into his office white as a ghost and said he just saw Jerry doing something to a boy in the shower. And that's it. That's all he ever told me."'

With our recent Title IX issues, we don't need Schiano anywhere near the Hill.

Innocent until proven guilty absolutely applies in a court of law.

It does not apply to hiring a football coach. The public perception is what it is, that will not change.

He is damaged goods and a PR nightmare.

What stories please tell us what the story actually is.....

Only thing report said was a guy saw Schiano turn white

And that statement was made under duress from a memory over over 20+ years before

It is possible that the guy is remembering the wrong coach..... just saying that's just as possible and Schiano is telling the truth that it wasn't him

I went back and edited some of my comment after you had commented. Here is why it's hard for me. Not saying it's fair at all to have the opinion I do, but it's something you don't forget.

And having to help few innocent kids in the ER before when they had been sexually abusued, has probably jilted me moreso. So my opinion is more from a jilted aspect.

This honestly isn't much of a factor in my opinion of Schiano, but what he says doesn't prove anything. Sandusky claimed he was innocent too you know.

Move to a communist country then if America's innocent until proven guilty is not to your liking then.

Innocent until proven guilty is applicable to the legal system and courtrooms, not public opinion. Black cloud because he’s got a gambling habit or something, maybe. Black cloud because people testified he had knowledge of boys “rape showers”, hell to the effen no.

If he did know, he reported it to an older coach(Tom Bradley). Maybe he now doesn't want to admit it and embarrass the older coach because it really serves no purpose. The McCreary guy already implicated Bradley as having been told.

Schiano was a young coach in his 20's, at his first job. Maybe he thought that he did all that was necessary by going to an older coach, and maybe he thought that nothing else happened again while he was at PSU. I don't know the answers, but I can't convict the guy. It's not like he was in the shower with Sandusky and a boy.

Unbelievable. First off, what is he going to say?

Second, ask yourself is UT is going to hire a guy like Schiano after we just fired Butch Jones, and all the things that have come out about Butch, and the blowback from the Antone Davis mess, and the fact that Peyton Manning hates him and will never step foot on campus if he is here.

Currie will be fired before Christmas if Schiano is hired. It doesn't matter what he denies.

“No,” McQueary replied, according to the documents, “only that he had — I can’t remember if it was one night or one morning — but that Greg had come into his office white as a ghost and said he just saw Jerry doing something to a boy in the shower. And that’s it. That’s all he ever told me.”

Greg Schiano, Tom Bradley knew of Jerry Sandusky abuse at Penn State, documents show - The Washington Post
If it were your son Schiano allegedly saw with Sandusky in the shower and then did nothing, would you still want him as head coach?
