I thought we would give our opinions on some potential scenarios for the upcoming season. I will give a few and you just follow it up with your own. Be sure to include whether or not the scenario would meet your expectations. For all you jokesters, the floor is open for you too.

1 - We win the SEC East, but do it bc Florida and Georgia have down years both losing 3 or more conference games. I'm okay with that.

2 - We just miss the SEC Championship but beat a team from the West. Ehh I'm not okay with that, but if it's Bama in Tuscaloosa, I'll be pretty happy.

3 - We have 5 SEC losses and barely make a bowl game. Insert Fahr CBJ emoji 😡

(2) I think we can beat LSU at Neyland

I'm certainly OK with that, but someone has to win the East. It doesn't mean you accomplished a whole lot but at least you're on the ballot.

If we beat Bama...sure.

NOPE! The pumpers will remind you what poor Butch inherited...even though it's been 5 seasons removed.

Butch would have to be fired. Barley is my least favorite spice.

Your first scenario is highly unlikely. Georgia and Florida both have better chances of holding a 6-2 or better conference record than we do given our respective schedules.

For decades I have gone into the season with optimism. I was frequently disappointed. This year I have little optimism and fully expect a new cycle of "rebuilding." For a change I hope I'm wrong.

What if it plays out like last year? Beat Georgia and Florida but lose to sc and vandy. I think that pushes Butch right out the door.

7-5 and we will be told how fortunate we are that we have made a bowl game for the 4th consecutive year.

Expectations have been dummied down in a big way.

It's all about the how.

To justify or accept a loss in May is beyond me.

How do we beat Florida, then lose to Vandy?

This feels like a contract year.

CBJ needs to do well.

fully expect an unexpected year...like last year...our schedule will be as tough as last years...expect Georgia and Florida to be the ones to beat for the SEC East, and beating Bama is always something we like to dream about...and, I guess, we'll see what happens...:):)

GO BIG ORANGE!

Scenario #3 would suck to no end and we would probably lose all of our quality asst. coaches, Athletic Dept would go broke again on buybacks and signing bonuses and recruits would be hesitant unless we had a home run hire.

#2: If we manage to beat LSU or Bama, then that is great as they are probably the two best teams in SEC talent wise and coaching (bama).

#1: I don't see a lot of separation between Tennessee, Florida and Georgia. If we can steal an early game in Gainesville then we just might pull it off. Florida will have 7-8 new starters on Defense, so maybe we can get to them early before that Defense gels.

Florida has 4 SEC home games plus Cocktail Party in Jax. Their road games are manageable with USCe, Mizzou, and Kentucky. SECw games are LSU & aTm at FL. Georgia is at Tennessee, at Auburn and other SECw game is MissSt. With the relatively friendly SEC schedules for FL & GA, Tennessee will need to run the table in the SECe and possibly need one SECw win from LSU and Bama. At least our OOC games aren't as bad with GaTech and SouthernMiss vs. at NDame, at GaTech for GA and Mich (Arlington) and FLSt for FL.

Scenario#4: Tennessee beats Georgia Tech, Georgia, Florida and Bama yet still comes up short in winning the SECeast championship.

This would be right down our alley as last year we managed to squander control of our destiny.

On the flip side, how do fire a coach that beats Florida twice in a row and Georgia three straight?

Haha as much as I hate to say it... huntlandvol is right.. no way we fire a coach if he beats FL twice and GA three strait..... esp if we get banged up like in years past.
