Spurrier was able to do that because of a once-in-a-generation core of talent that came out of the state of South Carolina starting in about 2009. Marcus Lattimore, Alshon Jeffery, Stephon Gilmore, Clowney, etc. People kind of forget that Spurrier's first 5 years there were pretty middling, and many (including myself) were wondering if he had it anymore. Then the state put out a relatively incredible amount of talent over about a 3-4 year period and Spurrier got most of it, to his credit, and they went on the best 4-year run in the history of the program. They reached their peak under Spurrier and will be looking for that again until the end of time.
