Saturday is going to get UGLY

The Vols have the No. 122-ranked rushing defense in the country, and that is a huge problem against Bama, which has one of the nation's best rushing offenses. There is no chance to stop Bama offensively if the Vols can't stop their rushing. So no matter what the Vols manage on offense (and it probably won't be much, considering Bama's defense is probably the best in the country), there is no way Tennessee's defense is going to stop Bama from lighting up the scoreboard. Turnovers will be the Vols only chance to stay in this game. Bama made their first two turnovers of the season against Arkansas last week. Maybe it will happen again but I doubt it. All this to say that the matchups don't even come close to working in Tennessee's favor. Saban couldn't care less about point spreads, and he won't try to run up the score, but it will still be an epic blowout. Sorry to be so negative but this doesn't look good. It's a shame the Vols are in this position. It should not be this way in Butch's fifth year. But it is what it is.

Lets take a chance of stacking the line with 7. Will that do any good? Put 8 up there. Blitz, scrap, and take a chance. We have nothing to lose. Make them throw it. Bring the House every play. If they beat us in a run, oh well. Let’s bring it outside, inside, and the middle. Let’s line up our safety close, but not all of the way. Let’s try anything every play on defense.
Offense: I’m running Statue of Liberty, halfback passes, throwbacks across the field, double reverse passes, hitchie pitches, double half back passes, every play. Screw it, that’s what I would do. You have nothing to lose.

Bama has some of the lowest viewer ratings in the country. Their games are boring and everyone knows who is going to win.

And quick

Tennessee
108th (out of 130) in Scoring Offense
117th (out of 130) in Total Offense
97th (out of 130) in Rushing Offense
99th (out of 130) in Passing Offense
96th (out of 130) in 3rd Down Offense
112th (guess??) in Red Zone Offense

Bama
2nd In Scoring Defense
4th In Total Defense
#1 In Rushing Defense
25th In Passing Defense
9th In 3rd Down Conversion Defense
22nd In Red Zone Defense

These UT stats are why we wont win like many expect down the stretch after Bama. We are simply "bad", there's just no way around that.

We have a shot to win the game. If Neylad returns from the grave and Butch misses the flight.

Saturday is already ugly because we all know what the outcome will be, and they'll continue to have that arrogant, smug looks on their faces... I sure hope I'm around when they tumble cause the day will come when that happens..

Everyone needs to prepare for the possibility of a beatdown similar to Ole Miss.

40 is a given. 50 is very possible and 60 points is within reach. Considering our lack of offense and multiple 3 and outs against a dominant front 7, UT's defense will be exhausted by 3rd quarter and Alabama will just have their way with us during the 2nd half.

And come Monday, Butch Jones will still be employed at the University of Tennessee. :jpshakehead:

We could be staring at the worst loss in school history tomorrow. If that occurs, and Jones is still employed come Monday, I will not watch another game or spend another dollar on anything UT until he is gone. If Bama feels like it, they could beat us worse than Kentucky did in 1893, 56-0.

Doesn't Nick usually put his third string in my the 4th quarter? If so, I am thinking Bama 72-Vols 3.

I'm thinking 51 to 3. Saban pulls the starters and 2nd team at the half. He dresses out the 3rd string then the cheerleaders in the second half and we get a FG against them. No use getting his players hurt by some freak accident.
