The Vols have the No. 122-ranked rushing defense in the country, and that is a huge problem against Bama, which has one of the nation's best rushing offenses. There is no chance to stop Bama offensively if the Vols can't stop their rushing. So no matter what the Vols manage on offense (and it probably won't be much, considering Bama's defense is probably the best in the country), there is no way Tennessee's defense is going to stop Bama from lighting up the scoreboard. Turnovers will be the Vols only chance to stay in this game. Bama made their first two turnovers of the season against Arkansas last week. Maybe it will happen again but I doubt it. All this to say that the matchups don't even come close to working in Tennessee's favor. Saban couldn't care less about point spreads, and he won't try to run up the score, but it will still be an epic blowout. Sorry to be so negative but this doesn't look good. It's a shame the Vols are in this position. It should not be this way in Butch's fifth year. But it is what it is.
