Sanders and Payton ran behind all-pro and HOF-laden OLs? Do what? Much of Paytons career he played for awful Bears teams and Sanders typically led the league in runs resulting in lost yardage because he was routinely having to dodge defenders in his offensive backfield as soon as he got a handoff.
Perhaps youre right and you can document and substantiate your claim here with specific players and data. But, I recall both of those incredible HOF running backs more often than not making chicken salad out of chicken ish when they got the ball.

Those backs I specifically mentioned BECAUSE they had little help, Sanders his entire career and Payton most of his career.
They still had the numbers, even though they were often dodging tacklers before they were even handed the ball.
