This couldn't be any worse with all that took place on our biggest recruiting weekend. First time I am starting to question if this was a good hire now. Guess it's time for me to find something else to do on Saturday and await the basketball team. It's not the losing that burns my a@# it's the embarrassing way it happened as well as this incident on this particular weekend.Thought this staff was smarter than this, Butch back? JK kind of

This morning I actually thought....should've hired Lane Kiffin back. ugh

Good grief, no one knows for sure what happened yet. If it was 'hard coaching' i have zero problem with it. Recruits will find out about it and they'll know what is expected of them if they come here..

If you're suggesting that Pruitt publicly called a good kid a quitter based upon a rumor or other hearsay, it would be just about as bad as an outright lie by Pruitt. Even if Pruitt's story is true, what kind of coach airs dirty laundry like this by calling out a kid in public? This is a major problem for this staff and likely will not end well.

The end is near

Well that's my thoughts on it. Young adults we'll call them, sometimes don't like when a cold dose of reality is served up. Our whole culture is soft anymore.

We are definitely in agreement here.

I wonder if half the locker room is divided on Pruitt. There is never 100% buy in when a new coach comes in. Sapp is definitely not the only one.

Some of the upper class appear to be playing hard, guys like Tuttle, Johnson, Phillips. Some look worse, Richmond, Kongbo, Warrior.

We are digging a hole to get even lower than the bottom of the pit that we currently reside. This is not somewhere I want to call home.

"Miscommunication" for me is the key word in his statement. Sounds like a miscommunication from someone to Pruitt. Time will tell, if it was a "miscommunication," I think Pruitt will own it and let it be known.

On the flip side, if it's a lie by Quarte, Pruitt will let that be known as well. Curious to see how this plays out!

This is my feelings. I imagine Pruitt didn’t face to face ask Sapp to enter the game. So someone else on the staff relayed those orders. So we have a third wheel here, or a go between.

To me there could very likely be a communication issue. Or this go between was whom had to be “restrained”after getting into it with Sapp. Then in his rage he thru Sapp under the bus on the head phones to Pruitt.

Look I don’t know, just glad it’s being looked at. Even Pruitt made it clear that this was very out of character for Sapp.

I'm sure a lot of players etc know the answer to all this sure we'll find out eventually. I am beginning to think we might have made a boo boo hiring Pruitt may be to much of a hot head for the job. He is always kicking things hopefully they will remain objects and not real people.
To add probably dealing with Butch recruits can make you want to kick things.

Anyone who says booing these guys because they are college students are missing it completely. If this was Div 1 - AA or Div 2, maybe. But these guys are highly trained, skilled athletes that go through year round preparation and are catered to because they are performers and they are auditioning for a professional career. Many of them will be playing professionally. I expect more from these guys.

I for one, am tired of seeing our players do nothing in Neyland and then go on to have great NFL careers and I scratch my head and say, why did they not do that here.

I remember all the crap Jalen Hurd got, even from me and now in retrospect I wonder how much of it was Butch's fault. This time around I am choosing to not take sides because no one knows the full story. I'm just sick that I've become this apathetic over Tennessee Football. It feels like the team of my childhood is never coming back.
@Behr So yeah

I don't have a choice, I was born a Vol, and will die one, but agree it's a tough burden right now. Anything you love can cause you pain, such is the case with our Vols right now, well the last 10+ years really.

I may be critical of the program sometimes, but I don't like the booing the team either. I remember when Southerners didn't boo their team, that was a Yankee thing, but the entitled culture rot and lack of class has spread everywhere now.

I remember last year the UF coach made a comment out of frustration that was not exactly true. It didn’t seem like a big deal at first and then he ended up losing his job. To be continued.........

Beats my two pair. (that sounds dirty come to think on it). But, I wonder if a large segment of the fan base turned on Coach Pruitt, what is the likelihood that the players coalesce (never have I ever written that word. Must be the MCT oil) around him? I think that could happen. Go Vols!
