California Enclave Declares Itself A 'non-sanctuary' City, Will Work With Immigration Officials, Trump admin

Huntington Beach leaders criticized California sanctuary state policies, which they said pose a public safety threat

Leaders in one Southern California city fed up with the state's immigration policies have voted to become a "non-sanctuary" city and ignore the state's sanctuary laws.

The resolution was approved by the Huntington Beach City Council on Tuesday night by a unanimous 7-0 vote. Mayor Pat Burns, who introduced the legislation, "Non-Sanctuary City for Illegal Immigration for the Prevention of Crime," said the move was a matter of public safety.

The move directs the city's police officers to work with federal immigration authorities and notify immigration officials when they are about to release an illegal immigrant from jail.

Hochul Promised a ‘List’ For How NY Would Work With ICE — But The List Never Came

Gov. Kathy Hochul promised a public “list” that would outline how New York would cooperate with federal immigration authorities under President Trump – but that list was never released.

Hochul has dodged drawing any firm lines about working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other federal agencies as anti-illegal immigration raids were unleashed across the country — saying she supports cooperation when it comes to criminal migrants without offering specifics.

In December, Hochul claimed “we have a whole list” of crimes that would trigger the state to hand over migrants to ICE among criticisms that the state’s sanctuary policies were giving cover to accused criminals in the country illegally.

“We’ll be announcing this probably before the end of the year or early next year,” Hochul pledged. “I think the public has a right to know. Law enforcement needs to know where I’m coming from.

“Washington needs to know where we’re going to be helpful, what we’re going to do and I’ll be very clear on this so everyone has no doubt in their mind what the situation will look like in the state of New York,” Hochul added.

But as ICE conducted its first high-profile operations in the Big Apple Monday, Hochul’s list had yet to materialize.

Attorney General Pam Bondi will issue several major directives on her first day leading the Justice Department, including orders to combat the weaponization of the legal system; make prosecutors seek the death penalty when appropriate; and work with the Department of Homeland Security to “completely eliminate” cartels and transnational criminal organizations, Fox News Digital has learned.

Fox News Digital exclusively obtained memos outlining Bondi’s first-day directives, which will lay the groundwork for the Justice Department under her leadership.

“The discretion afforded Justice Department attorneys with respect to those responsibilities does not include latitude to substitute their personal political views or judgments for those that prevailed in the election,” the memo states.

Bondi, in the memo, states that “any Justice Department attorney who declines to sign a brief, refuses to advance good-faith arguments on behalf of the Trump administration, or otherwise delays or impedes the Justice Department’s mission will be subject to discipline and potentially termination.”

Bondi is set to establish the “Weaponization Working Group,” which will review the activities of all law enforcement agencies over the past four years to identify instances of “politicized justice.”

The working group’s first reviews will include prosecutions against Trump led by former Special Counsel Jack Smith; Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg; and New York Attorney General Letitia James, who brought the civil fraud case against Trump and his family.

Trump Administration Sues Chicago, State Of Illinois Over Sanctuary Laws — And Vows More Lawsuits To Come

The Trump administration has filed suit against the state of Illinois, Cook County and the city of Chicago, arguing their sanctuary laws “interfere” with Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s ability to arrest and deport illegal migrants — the first of many such lawsuits to come, Justice Department officials told The Post.

The suit singles out several state and local laws that the Justice Department identifies as inhibiting the federal government’s ability to enforce US immigration law.

“We’ve identified Illinois, the city of Chicago and Cook County as all having laws and ordinances on the books that impede federal immigration enforcement, in particular the Chicago Welcoming ordinance, the Illinois Trust Act,” a DOJ official said.

Inside America's 'Trans Sanctuary City' too busy shouting about Trump to focus on Worst Murder Rate In Decades

Residents of the Massachusetts city that's declared itself a 'trans sanctuary' say they're worried that social justice warriors have hijacked their council and are running their hometown into the ground.

Worcester entered the national spotlight this month when colorfully-dressed activists took over a hearing and demanded city hall give them more 'protection' because of Donald Trump's return to the White House.

A parade of crusaders clad in wigs, make-up, jewelry, and drag costumes complained about being 'unsafe' in the liberal bastion, yelling and crying as they aired grievances from the podium.

City Hall is obsessed with trans rights, Israel's war in Gaza, migrant protections, and 'virtue signaling' as the second Trump administration rolls out its hardline policies, they said.

Critics say council members should focus instead on Worcester's homelessness crisis, which jumped by 20 percent last year

Johanna Hampton-Dance, a local musician who twice ran to serve on the council, says Worcester has become a national joke as its local bureaucracy was spinning 'out of control'.

'Radicals are pushing their agenda for social justice, when the city council should be about clearing the trash and paving our streets,' Hampton-Dance told DailyMail.com.

Massive blue city Migrant Shelter Opens despite residents' furious opposition

The converted Warehouse will soon be able to House up to 2,200 Male-Only Migrants

A massive 2,200 male-only migrant shelter has opened in the Bronx despite residents venting their opposition to the move and as the city announces the closures of other migrant shelters throughout New York City, including the Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan.

The new facility, a 275,000-square-foot former warehouse, began accepting migrants on Saturday, a spokesperson for the mayor's office told Fox News Digital.

The opening of the facility, located at 825 E. 141st St., and the prospect of such a large influx of migrant men being housed in the community sparked furious scenes at a Bronx community board meeting last month where residents also said that they were never consulted on the decision.

The opening of the Bronx shelter comes as Adams' office said Monday that there are currently fewer than 45,000 migrants in the city’s care, down from a high of 69,000 in January 2024. New York City taxpayers have forked out billions of dollars to pay for housing for more than 232,000 who have arrived in New York City seeking city services since the spring of 2022.

NYC Eases Requirements for Illegal Migrants to Get ID Residency Card: ‘A terrible idea’

The city is making it easier for potentially hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants to obtain a municipal residency ID card to help try to pave the way for everything from housing to free health care.

The Adams administration-backed change, passed by the City Council, adds 23 types of lesser IDs that migrants and others can show to prove New York City residency to get the useful card.

For example, illegal migrants and others are now able to produce expired driver’s licenses and previous documents from ICE, the federal Bureau of Prisons and open cases with city departments such as for housing, in addition to 100 other types of IDs, to help obtain an IDNYC card.

The official city IDs were first offered by the de Blasio administration in 2015 to try to help migrants more easily access free health care in city public hospitals, open bank accounts, sign leases and enroll in school, among other things.

There are currently about 670,000 illegal migrants in New York, according to a study released in late January by the liberal-leaning Fiscal Policy Institute. The majority traditionally live in New York City.

Critics blasted the easing-up of access to IDNYC, saying it undermines federal immigration law and President Trump’s vow to enforce it.

“Most disturbing is that there is no vetting, no process to ensure documents provided to prove identity are not fake and, to boot, they destroy these documents that could be helpful in an investigation,” said the rep, who futilely sued the de Blasio administration to try to get access to the data to root out illegal migrants.

so much for Adams wanting to get rid of the illegals.

Sanctuary City Mayor, Police Chief Scold Cops For Assisting Border Patrol Officers Who Asked For Backup: ‘Against our policy’

Rochester leaders scolded local cops for violating their sanctuary city policies after they responded to a request for backup from Border Patrol agents conducting a traffic stop.

Border Patrol asked for emergency police assistance on Monday after pulling over a van with an estimated eight people inside.

Rochester cops responded to the scene with lights and sirens, ordered the suspects out of the vehicle and helped put them in handcuffs, according to local WABC affiliate WHAM.

But the completely routine police response was enough to raise the ire of Democratic Rochester Mayor Malik Evans, who held a press conference on the incident Wednesday.
