I would have to agree with that. Playing with an NFL OL, this team should have fared better on offense than we did. Everything seems to point to Mahoney. He might be a fine OL coach for a Big East team....but not in the SEC. You need the cream of the crop, and Pittman was one of the few bright spots on Dooley's staff. The OL coach has to go. Not keeping Pittman was Butch's biggest mistake.
Negative. Bajakian looks brilliant when the QB isn't getting sacked every other play. But when Mahoney's guys routinely get beat off the snap every play, no OC can overcome that. I really would not be surprised to see Mahoney let go after the season is over.Hard to evaluate Mahoney yet. Bakjakian is a bigger problem than Mahoney.
Arkansas OL rolling along; when Alabama came sniffing around to Pittman, Arkansas tied him up by doubling his salary, pretty good for OL coach and he's considered a strong recruiter in that area. The OL coach has to go. Not keeping Pittman was Butch's biggest mistake.
Our talent isn't top of the line but it's not as bad as its been either. At the end of Fulmer we had hardly any scholarship players on either line. James craggy did a vastly superior job with 2 walk on brothers that were 50 lbs under weight than mahoney is doing with guys that atleast had scholarship offers.

I bet Butch plays the loyalty card and keeps Mahoney thus producing another year or two of mediocrity. That probably will get us to the next coach. Big mistake not keeping Pittman.
Glad jack jones will be here next year. Hopefully these "kids" realize how difficult the sec is and put in the work to compete. It pathetic to get whipped all season like that.
Unfortunately the o-line is going to be comprised of the same members next year unless we get some phenom freshman that are ready to play, which is highly unlikely. Mahoney hasn't seemed to be able to produce any improvement this year, and if the same happens next year, and Butch doesn't get rid of him, then 2016 isn't going to be any better.
Yeah, our talent is so stupendous that we're starting a former walk on with no acl.
People are quick to forget how the "lack of talent" excuse was used for Dooley, also, due to Fulmer laying down on the job and all the attrition with Kiffin.
Dooley had something like 63 scholarship players year one -- Jones started with a full stable of 85, and an NFL O line. If Mahoney can't coach up NFL quality linemen, then who can he coach up?
