I watched the game and thought both of those were the right call. Not sure what you mean by batting. I'm just saying every flag was thrown on us until it was pretty much over and we had like a 1% of wining. There were some missed PI calls for sure until the very end of the game. And like I mentioned before, our SEC opponents almost never seem to get flagged for holding but we sure the heck do! I just wish that stuff was called more evenly. If we're going to call it tight or loose, it doesn't matter. Just call it the same way both ways. That doesn't happen in our games unfortunately. David Smith is a common head official for our games and he is an Alabama grad. He's been the head official for a lot of our games that had controversial calls that went against Tennessee

Yeah. Both teams got the benefit of some calls/no-calls. The refs weren't good, but they never are. In the end, they had nothing to do with the result.

Exactly. We got out coached and man handled. Until we get athletes like the big boys, we need to stay on the porch. Wait till Oklahoma gets through our offensive line. Back up qb better be ready.

Other than the 4 sacks we didn’t get manhandled. We matched them yard for yard, but gave up a pick six from the one yard line instead of scoring. If you want to say that we shot ourselves in the foot multiple times and cost ourselves the game I’m fine with that, but any narrative that Alabama manhandled Tennessee is just not correct.

I was surprised we did get the roughing penalty when we did. Had JA not got up slow, ref would’ve thrown the flag. As far as nullifying the safety, we weren’t going to get that call at their place.

Batting is swatting at a live ball. Tennessee's #27 clubbed the loose ball 10 yards up field. Because it was ruled a fumble, it should have been 10 yards from the spot of the foul and remained Bama's ball.

Fortunately, UT didn't score and it just led to the 99 yard drive. No harm no foul, I guess.

Cool. None of Bama's scoring drives were assisted by UT penalties until the last one. It's not like flags were keeping Bama's drives alive.

Which ones? Not doubting you on this one, just curious. Smith tends to be one of the less controversial SEC refs. You don't hear nearly as much about him as Autrey or Williamson.

Well the one personal foul that they did call later in the game was back the back judge who was 25 yards behind the play and not the official who was standing right there; so bottom line, you're not getting that call in Tuscaloosa unfortunately.

That benefit of the doubt isn’t given on targeting and nearly every other unnecessary roughness call, so why would it here. Also the elbows to the helmet of the qb happened repeatedly. Your dirty ass coach and dirty ass players knew exactly what they were doing while committing fouls that in every unbiased environment would have been called repeatedly. Instead, nobody gave a single fook that your team was intentionally trying to take our qb out of the game via illegal hits. Just like they didn’t give a shite about how many times your team literally lined up not even in the neutral zone but straight up offsides. I’ve had non-Tennessee fan friends, some of which are traditionally Tennessee haters, apologizing to me for what our team went through having watched the game.

Go fuq yourself and your dirty fuqqing program.

Aren't you a ray of sunshine? We matched up pretty well athletically, just made some bad plays at bad times and forgot how to tackle too often.
