The old it's the fan bases fault for coach flaws. Yeah I'm sure players don't want to come here bc of the fans not bc of our coach who blew it against south Carolina and freaking vandy. Give me a break

He may not have had the best offer list, but impressive to see schools like Vanderbilt, Cornell, Virginia, and Yale. You cannot teach intelligence. He may be a little raw or need some time in the gym, but I think he'll be a smart, valuable player for the Vols.

This is probably what every vandy fan says about their recruits. Don't get me wrong intelligence is important in life and sports and those offers are academically impressive. But I'd prefer the players with the offers from alabama, Ohio state, etc. Butch's not going to leave our next coach much to work with

Agree, it should be. I'm having a hard time understanding why we have 11 DE's. We could field an entire defense with nothing but DE's

Lol I was trying to be positive, but you shot me down real quick. The first reply to my post. But I know it's always nice to see a guy with offers from the top schools. A lot of our three stars do have impressive offer lists though.

I'm not negative just realistic. A few of our 3 stars have good offer lists, but anyone who is truly content with this class is lying to themselves. Once everyone fills out their classes I expect us to finish around 15th-20th which is good for around 6th or 7th in the SEC. In other words not good enough

You're right. You can try to sugar coat it all you want, but you're telling the truth. I hope we can land a few of the big targets we are still after and at least have a solid finish.

this thread should be deleted. i hope to god no one in this kid's family decides to come on here and read this. or maybe keep it (with his name redacted) for when yall act like you aren't being super negative and looking thru a negative lens at everything the vols do from the get-go. either way i can't believe i read 6 pages of that crap. some of yall really must be sad af. maybe find a new hobby that doesn't get you this worked up, especially over just a dang recruit. i'm being 100% serious.

Barnett was a 4* and Vandy commitment until Franklin left. Sutton was a 3* if I remember correctly.

I really feel sorry for so many people here on VN.

Your lives must be really sad, negative and pathetic.

We get a new recruit that wants to get a education and play footVol at our beloved UT and you people do nothing but bash and belittle this young man.

There's exactly NOBODY here on VN that has any clue at all how this young man will turn out when he graduates and leaves UT.

He might turn into a TE or a DT and NONE of you read tea leaves and knows his future for the next 3 or 4 years, NOT 1 of you.

He may become all SEC for us.

He may become a All American for us.

He may become a 1st round draft pick in the NFL for us.

Or he may become a complete bust for us but NOBODY knows anything at all right now.

Holy smokes people, grow a brain and give the kid a chance for 2 or 3 years before you go after him with your Nega-Nincompoop pitchforks and hate filled garbage!

You don't remember correctly. Barnett was NEVER committed to Vandy and had already committed to TN BEFORE Franklin jumped to PSU.

Ok he may be filling holes with bodies, but come game day that won't matter. When our quality players get tired or hurt and are replaced by these 3*s the other team will shut our O down and score at will on our D just like this past season. Depth means NOTHING if its not quality depth and CBJ isn't getting us quality depth.

i'd rather have a class of only 15-20 quality kids than 27 with 22 of those being 3*'s we're taking just to fill a hole and they will provide a noticeable drop in quality when they hit the field.

I will again remind you nega-nincompoops that that the huge majority of players in the NFL came out of high school as lowly 3* players entering college.

That's like saying only 1st and 2nd round picks in the NFL will ever become good players, LMAO!

Some people seem to need brain transplants, LOL!
