Everyone who says we're not missing anything with gray transferring is delusional
Gray had that foot in the ground misdirection make you miss move down and that’s what set him apart (muscle relaxer move). Other than that, other rbs can provide just about everything else Gray did.

I would like to establish right here for the rest of this thread that when knoxtownVol said:

"Gray is the best UT has ever had and if he’d stayed we would be looking at a playoff run. But since he’s gone we’re looking at 0-12."

... I am pretty sure he was making what he thought was an extreme statement that would surely be taken as sarcasm instead of literally. Therefore, no one needs to challenge him any further on that point about UT running backs because it wasn't a serious statement.

(And that's the danger of not using the blue font...people will take you seriously.)

You would have to add Johnny Jones and Reggie Cobb with those two.

There are more to add but jamal and chuck could truck your ass or break your ankles with their quickness.

IMO very few that have came through knoxville were their equal since i began watching in the early eighties.

Honestly where would you rank Ty Chanler and Eric Gray among Tennessee running backs, Chandler was adequate Gray was above average in my opinion, which means nothing.
When both these guys blow up at there new schools? The level of coaching mismanagement and incompetence the last few years was embarrassing. These guys are now in solid, stable teams who will bring out their best.

What if they don’t?

I’m letting anyone who though I was serious just roll with it.

Gray is a very good player and will probably become nationally known at Oklahoma. It's the perfect system for him. He would've been a great fit in Heupel's offense, but I do think Beckwith, Small, and Evans are all special players that negate the loss of Gray. Chandler was pretty good his freshman year and then regressed every year. Hopefully a change of scenery and a different offense will give him the opportunity he needs.

How May carries did Beckwith get in O&W game?

Great post. Stir the pot. Good to add a little humor and fodder to the discussion. You did a good job of supporting JG when he was here. Keep up the good work.
