McNabb is a baller, and Kolb is not. You're comparing apples to oranges.
Crompton has brain lock up when the lights come on.
It was the exact same last year.
The year before that you heard the same refrain.
Eagles fans only like him when they're winning.
No other perennial Pro-Bowl-caliber QB is disliked more than McNabb, year in and year out.

Crompton has brain lock up when the lights come on. Can't understand how Stephens getting a crack at competing...not just in practice, but on the FIELD, is so difficult for guys like you to understand. Kiffin said it was close, and that Stephens had made huge strides since Spring. CLK also thought Matt Leinhart was going to end up having to transfer to a Div 1AA team because he was terrible in practice. Somehow he squeaked ahead of
Cassell and showed up once it was game time.
Those words alone show that coaches often sometimes misjudge players ability. We won't know until NS gets his chance on the field. He looked sharp too against WKU. We're already to the point that a number of other players on the team (who were QB's in HS) could step in and run the same plays that CLK is limiting Crompton to...so how can you say NS is worse. CLK just may want to side with seniority with the two being so close.
It may not be ability at all that separates them. It may well be CLK just trying to help JC out if he can...and thinks he may be able to.
not a stephens fan, crusse
orange blood, can you tell me which qb will still be here next year? NS, so why not let him play. it cant get worse than JC. No i dont think i know more than the coaches but according to them it was close in camp and it is still supposedly a competitive atmosphere. what do you have to lose. cromptonb is the worst qb in d1 by a mile! maybe there is something we dont know, but all i can go on is what lane says. The competition was close.
Kiffins big mouth and poor handling of "yet another" situation has put us in the situation of having nothing to choose from....
At what point do we ask ourselves, is it worth throwing away a season just to get a QB who has never been in front of 102,000 fans?
Maybe Kiffen should have thought it through a little more....... We could have a red shirt sophmore (BJ Coleman) who had promise. ( a coachable athlete)
Now we have to wait another year, and then what? Compare him to who? Coleman's gone, Crompton's Gone, and trust me when I say Stephens won't stand araound and let another season go by, with no playing time....
oh well, Chattanooga's attendance is at an all time high..... some of the fans in the stands even have UT-orange on....
Yea, i said it... Just becasue Kiffin said he wasn't going to say anything about Coleman, we all can't speak our mind? (By the way, I am sure Kiffen was told by Hamilton to keep his mouth shut about Coleman....)
Sorry Man! I didn't Drink the orange Cool-aide...

okay crusse, you didnt say fan, but supporter. you are splitting hairs. i do not know why ns isnt starting. i never acted like i did know. i only wonder if the comp. was so close then give him a shot. again, i dont know more than the coaches, but they said how close the comp. was. again, crompton has the same look in his eyes that i saw in men who were 15 sec. removed from a 2000 pound bomb blast in iraq.

hey orange blood. if we had even an average qb we would be 3-0 and in the top 5. laugh, but think about it. i am not saying we would be unbeaten w/ ns but crompton is THE WORST STARTING QB IN D1 PERIOD.
The reason Nick Stephens has not started is because, since December 1, 2008, Jonathan Crompton has distinguished himself as the #1 QB on our roster. In that amount of time, Nick Stephens has never been considered the #1, and to this day, remains with the backups.
Selective amnesia plagues our fans.
