Rumors flying

You know, it is still rumors. I usually don’t get involved in rumors and post here. When I hear somethings that is going on, I will post. You can look all over the place on this board, and see that I don’t post about rumors. If I think they are in a way the truth, then I will post what I hear or know. But I stay out of these situations. I know rumors are just rumors, but I’ll take a wait and see approach on what my friend is hearing around campus.
This doesn't even rise to the level of rumor.

This is just chatter - "buzz around the campus."

And please, spell Peyton with an "e", not an "a". This isn't even a grammar/spelling police comment; just a sign of respect for PM.

I know it is unpopular but i dont want Peyton as OC. If he wants an OC job he needs to cut his chops up the ranks of coaching. A great QB does not necessarily translate to a great coach.

And I doubt he would do it any other way. He always appreciated the history of football.

My friend that is in Knoxville says that the word is that Payton Manning May be in Knoxville before New Years.
Also is hearing that the former Texas Tech coach may be interviewed before New Years.

Is Peyton celebrating New Years in Knoxville? He sure as hell isnt about to drop into coaching right away to an OC gig for a rebuild....

Peyton literally makes zero sense besides a touchy feel good story for some.

Lol. Peyton Manning would be an awesome hire. Unfortunate that I never ever see it happening.....

Talk about bringing the fan base together.....

Doubt it would bring the masses together.

Peyton signed off on Butch, kept Phil from getting AD job that went to Currie, and signed off and helped sell Schiano. Dude is a punk.

You’re one of the sane ones I see.

That's harsh....why would he keep Phil from being AD. Maybe he was just doing what was expedient at the time....I do question his motives for trying to sell Schiano. But he's prickish I guess.

He is sane. You on the other hand calling Peyton a punk are an ass. Peyton has forgot more about football than any of your OCs you want here.

Peyton is a punk considering his actions within the AD and Haslam wing of things over the past 2 years.

It’s amazing how many people think you can’t criticize the guy because he’s “special”

The Mannings want to own a NFL franchise at some point. Haslam’s wanted Currie and Peyton backing him was just means to an end.

Peyton could have easily made a public push to get Phil in over Currie. Speaks volumes.

Considering we're on the outside looking in none of us know the real story of any of it including yourself.

I've gone through two seasons of Grumors. You can't teach an old dog new tricks, but you can teach them lessons!. Peyton Manning? "Come on Man".

I do agree on that, but how much more would that have fractured the fan base? There is a certain segment of the fan base that don't like Phil and blames him for this mess.

Shoot for the stars, but at the end of the day, Will Friend will be promoted so Pruitt can save a dollar, besides they are BFF.......

That is cool to sit and listen. I don’t know the answer to that one, but I did post that Haselwood would like to know who the offensive coordinator is going to be before Jan. 4th. That is buzzing around on campus tonight.
Haselwood has said that he was going to sign on December 19 (somewhere) and then not make it public until the AAA Bowl which is the 4th or the 5th, so that doesn't make any sense.
