Rumors about VT interest in JH

I have to agree here. Heupel and all these SEC coaches have more money than they can spend. I genuinely believe Heupel knows Neyland Stadium and UT is one of the top environments in college football. You could see when he beat Oklahoma last year how special it was for him, so he's not going back there either.

Saw a Clay Travis clip where he says the perfect coach for LSU is Nick Saben. Pay him 100 million for 4 years. Why would he do that? Makes no sense for him to undertake those kind of stresses. And, the reason he gave for leaving Alabama was the way NIL has changed how coaching morphed into the NFL. Why would he jump back in? Answer is, he won't, and Heupel won't head to VT.
I imagine having Danny White on board sways things, a tad, as well

Heup gonna leave for a worse job that has trouble raising money for NIL? LOL.

I doubt VT can even afford to pay coach 10+ million, and it would take at least that for Heup to even entertain a phone call.

Where are you hearing these rumors? Reddit?
You’re right! My son in law is a longtime VT season ticket holder and his parents are alumni. He said the AD was lobbying to get approval to spend more money to hire better coaches, which I think they approved, but there was discussion as to whether VT was going to spend more to be competitive in sports or resign themselves to being more academic and remain mediocre.

Why is it that there continues to be threads full of hand wringing? How do you guys make it through a season? If he leaves, I highly doubt he will especially to VT, then we find the next great coach. The next coach will have a loaded team to wlk into. Quit trying to find reasons to worry.

I just seen an article about LSU reaching out as well
LSU making a run at him would be worthy of note. That's a cherry gig. Seems an odd fit to me though. I think they'd have to offer obscene money for us not to match it too. Golesh could be hard much cheaper.

I don’t know which boards they read but admin and coaches have low level staff monitoring msg boards and fans. Report back moods and any real dramatic statements. I’ve been called about things I’ve said that they didn’t like.

Many, many players (all sports) read them and actually view them as entertainment with all the outlandish comments and statements made by fans.
It's almost like they're real people huh
