RUMOR: Da'rick indefintely suspended?

Maybe the shirt was meant to make Tyler homesick. Coaches are tired of DR affecting TB.

Kid has personal problems. Hes 19 or 20 and in college. He has no parents (lived with Nash Nance). How the hell do expect him to act? You honestly think hes gonna be the perfect little angel? Hell no. I'd have problems too if I didn't have either of my parents around to teach me right from wrong. Use some common sense you stupid Florida fan. You know absolutely nothing about these players, and just throw out opinions like its no big deal. Unbelieveable how ignorant some people are..

Signed,
Me.

Lame excuse IMO

There are millions of men who were unfortunate enough to have no parents or horrible one's at that, that become contributing citizens and family men.

He's 20, he's not 10. The Bible says, there is a time when a man grows up and puts away childish things.

Wait. He just disciplines one of his best players who has made himself a problem and he has no control? That is the epitome of a coach doing what it takes to get and maintain control as well as improve team unity by establishing that no one guy is bigger than the team.

Coach shouldn't have to wait this long to discipline the best player.. If he was a good coach it would have been done the first time it happened and we would never hear about it again.

I've been off the Dooley wagon recently BUT here are my two cents:

1. If his staff stays mainly intact, you gotta keep him for stability issues and can him after next season.
2. If #1 is true and he suspended Da'Rick that shows me that he wants to straighten out the attitude in the locker room.
3. If the staff falls apart, blow it all up.

Are you on 1180 right now? Someone just said exactly this.

Source: Da'Rick Rogers no longer with Vols

Rogers reportedly came in before a team meeting with a California, Berkeley sweatshirt.

One of the coaching assistants told Rogers he needed to talk to coach Derek Dooley before the meeting started.

When Dooley came in for the meeting, Rogers wasn't with him.

Coach Dooley reportedly talked some about the season, then said he wanted to get the news out in the open that "Da'Rick is no longer with us."

Dooley moved on quickly after the announcement without giving further details.

If he had control of his team his most productive player on offense wouldn't be suspended in the offseason period. He also wouldn't be blowing up at coaches on the sideline every weekend. Dealing with it at the end of the season, which results in one of your best players not being on the team, isn't exactly being in control.

Excuses? Sure you can call em excuses all day long. Why? Because you don't have a clue whats going on inside his head. Anyone of us can pick and choose, and form opinions over every little thing, but it boils down to whats inside his head and how he deals with it. Obviously he isn't good at dealing with and has some problems.

You are right, I haven't a clue.

But wearing a Cal shirt is an easy fix. Just don't do it. Wear one of the 50 Tennessee shirts you own and support your program. When you graduate wear whatever you want.

Furthermore, if he is struggling this much then football is the least of his worries. Kid needs help.

If only he was as good a coach as you are.

And that is exactly what the "VFL program" is supposed to be for.. My opinion is that it isn't what its praised to be, and the coaches are supposed to be as big a part of the VFL as the players are with helping the players... And they obviously aren't doing a good job.

So instead of suspending a player for his attitude, teach him and help him.. But i'll tell you what. If he was on Saban's team, this sh-t would have been cleared up last year. He is just that good of a coach.. Dooley is trying to be too much like him but isn't anywhere like him. No stability at all.

Didnt wanna read through 40 pages. Got a text from TOS that says "Da'Rick Rogers status with Vols seems in limbo" so is the suspension now confirmed, not a rumor? Is it something else? Is he leaving the team?

No one knows.....just speculation.....as usual.
