RPI Discussion.

No at large teams got in and the cut off line was around 45...only two teams Clemson and USC had sub 50 rpi and made the dance...Its really too early to tell if UT makes the dance right now. Too many equations involved.

When I look at the RPIs of the remaining teams we play, I just don't see how we can get/stay (depending on which RPI you're looking at today) in the top 50 unless we steal one from Fla and/or don't lose to anyone outside of Ole Miss and Mizzou.

Beating teams, even on the road, ranked around 100 won't bump up our RPI. Hopefully we can get a road win at Fla and that will go a long, long way.

Just win. Being in the top 4 of our conference and we're in good position to get in anything over 20 wins and we should be in comfortably.

A win Saturday could seal the deal. (RPI 45 or better)
If Xavier and VA maintain a top 25 position you'd have 3 top 25 wins.
More than enough to offset at least one more bad loss.

I don't think we have any more bad losses. Only ones that make me cringe is playing Georgia. If we can get pass that I think we'll be good. I'd love to be 4-1 in conference instead of 3-2. That TAM loss still gives me nightmares.

Beating teams on the road with a RPI around 100 will bump our RPI, not sure where you're getting that it won't. It bumped our RPI last year to beat Mississippi State I believe it was on the road, and they had a horrid RPI. It won't bump it 20 spots, but 2-3 spots is very possible.

The way we lost it is what makes it so frustrating for me. We were up 14 Fn points at halftime, you can not choke that away. We win that and as you said we are 13-5 (4-1) and probably have a RPI in the 30s and are a projected 7/8 seed.

Yup and as I was watching the game I just knew they would make a comeback, but I thought they fall short, but of course we lose on a three smh. We have opportunities to win some on the road. Let's get it done. I'd love to get at least one win against Florida and then sweep Mizzou.

Oh yea, that guy was coming up the court and I said are you kidding he's gonna jack up a Fn 3 for the W. As soon as he shot I knew it was Tennessee luck for that $h!t to go in.

Lol I had that same thought. As soon as Maymon missed those FTs I said **** they are going to shoot a 3 for the win arn't they, and they did. It's amazing our bad luck that we have had in the past decade that you can just call that **** now
