Now, when people mention idiotic head coaching hires in the SEC, Derek Doofus will come up before Recruiter Ron.

I knew Cutcliffe was the worst option available and glad we didn't hire him.

Little did I know Hamiliton would screw this up and hire the second worst option available.

I believe Sumlin wants the job. Just my honest opinion. If he picks Dooley over Sumlin, we should fire Hamilton on the spot.

I doubt Dooley will ever recruit a class that wins a NC though. Score another one for the Zooker.

No I don't mean that. If I had I would have said when Saban recruited those players that won an NC at LSU.

To just assume that he had no part in it is silly. Obviously Saban was happy with Dooley's contributions, or he wouldn't have brought him to the Dolphins.

A few more big games than you seem to have won.

The blind supporting the dumb. How quaint and predictable. When Dooley's hiring makes the idiotic decision to retain Fulmer after 2005 look like inspired thinking, it'll be fun to listen to everyone say how they knew this guy was a mistake.

If you ask him, we should.

Let me guess. You were one of the ones in 2005 say that Phil needed more time to wreck the program? So we have you, Phil, and Lane Kiffin to thank for this.

Do you think they went there to play for Derek Dooley or Saban? He had a small part in it but I won't be declaring him the next Coach O.

I don't think it was a very good hire, but I just don't see the point in assuming he will fail before his first practice. There's obviously a chance he will fail, maybe a pretty good chance, but I have no problem taking a wait and see approach before I declare him a failure.

You know when I was hiring people, or considering a promotion, I believed in giving a person the opportunity to show they could get the job done. However, I first had to believe the ability was present, I have difficulty seeing that ability with this hire.

Obviously Saban is the big draw, but Dooley knows more about bringing in recruiting classes that lead to an NC than most if not all of the coaches mentioned during the search.

Ron Zook brought in the spine of Meyer's first NC and, more importantly, consistently ranked in the Top 10 in recruiting ranks both at Florida and at Illinois. You showed vulnerability to the NCAA with your reaction to the hostess thing. Lane saw that and bolted someplace that is willing to go full-on heel.

Getting Dooley or Sumlin is stupid. Neither of those guys will pull out the stops to bring in a class full of 4 and 5-star recruits. You really should have stopped Orgeron at the pass and elevated him to HC. If for political reasons you really want to endure probation and go clean for a little while, then bring in a football and admin guy like Gene DeFilippo to cleanse your reputation. But going for Dooley is like going to Red Lobster and ordering a cheeseburger. Yeah, you can do it, but you're not going to be very satisfied, now are you?

Which is not saying a lot.

Lol...I never said I liked the hire, but there are a couple things that I think the guy has going for him. One would definitely involve being the recruiting coordinator under Saban at LSU and Saban thinking enough of you to bring you to the Dolphins with him.
