Roe vs Wade Overturned

Aside from gun control, last I checked liberals aren't trying to deny rights to people. Conservatives are the ones using the power of their governments to do that. They will go on and on about freedom and liberty, then immediately turn around and **** all over that. They want rights and freedom for themselves while stomping on anyone outside their group.
what I am saying is we have reached a point where there is no front we are United on

Maybe the end result of this decision will be that women will be less promiscuous and take greater care to prevent their own pregnancy if it's a burden to terminate a pregnancy.

They are all about state's rights on this issue tonight, but they will fall in line for a federal ban denying state's rights on the same issue. Give it a couple weeks.

Pence and McConnell and anyone that agrees with a federal ban are lying hypocrites. Plain and simple.
Will McConnell, when Republicans control the Senate again, do away with the filibuster to get a federal abortion ban passed?

so what’s the line on states right and a federal right because I see way to many people saying this should be up to the state .

Read the Constitution and gain knowledge. You may not agree with all of the document but it is ours. And the framers gave us a pathway to amend.

Influencing is one thing . I know people who literally are not allowed to vote for anyone that their parents don’t want them to vote for
I caught a little bit of hell this weekend for voting for Trump 2020. I say a little bit because it certainly wasn't as intense as it would have been in 2016 had I voted for him...

@zeppelin128 already did, but as I understand it, tennesse makes no exception.

I think the issue here is one of poor reporting. Like the here. The AG has asked for a motion to expedite the 6 week bill which is tied up in court, but not for an outright ban. I can link his press conference too if you’d like. But the motion he’s filed is for the 6 week ban. Not an outright abortion ban as the article implies.

He did mention 2-3 other states and I honestly haven’t had the time to go down those rabbit holes yet

Tenn. Attorney General files motion for immediate abortion ban

The federal government is not separating this country . Conservative and liberal views are what’s separating this country .
Right. You’re advancing down the well-worn socialist path. The problem is that not everyone agrees with the liberal federal administration. The solution is clearly the elimination of those evil conservatives.

Simple solution. Move to commie California. Problem solved

It goes beyond gun control. Both sides try to cancel those that disagree with them.

Then why even have the court rulings if we are not going to hold them in federal causes
That's why this ruling has always been viewed as dangerous/potentially easy to overturn. It was never a constitutionally protected right. It was judicial activism.SCOTUS job isn't to decide what's right or wrong. It's to decide is this constitutional or not

My understanding is that the six week bill does not include an exception for rape or incest.

The federal government is not separating this country . Conservative and liberal views are what’s separating this country .

Yet you’re claiming the division is worse. Yet the country has always been divided between the two parties about equally. They only thing that has changed is the federal government has become far more involved and taken far more power and limited the power of the state.

How does that not go completely against your claim?

This is where u are wrong . I absolutely hate everything that conservatives stand for but I believe progression is always the answer but I also believe in finding common ground if it’s for a greater good .

Why would it? Do you need 2 months to think about it if you’re raped by your dad?

By the nature of allowing 6 weeks, you’re not banning rape or incest abortions

If it's not in the constitution then it's up to the state. That's the way it works. And I would be vehemently against a federal law
I’m seriously beginning to hope this poster is a really outstanding troll. If he truly is this completely ignorant in his early 30’s (pretty sure I saw him reference this earlier tonight), it is infuriating.

I think it comes down to equality. Like with same-sex marriage. If a state allows it, all couples receive the same protections and benefits awarded to hetero couples. If a state does not allow it, they are creating a special class of people with distinct benefits while making other citizens second-class. That is when the Feds should step in.

I would argue the same point in the same way concerning abortion rights. Choice and privacy is paramount in my mind, but SCOTUS and conservatives do not share those values on a whole host of issues.

I answered this already . Politics have become front and center for most people . To many people are making it their whole personality. Everything has to either be far left or far right with little to no compromise

Wouldn’t compromise mean “you do what you want and I’ll do what I want” (states rights) rather than the top down government you desire?

I actually love this idea but the issue is socialism is frowned upon in this country because no one understands how it’s supposed to work and socialism works through government so even a local socialist area would be subjected to federal capitalism
Sounds like the remedy for that would be to weaken the federal govt so that you have more control on the local level.

On the local level, you can smell the cologne of your politicians. You see them at the Kroger or at the meat and three. The clowns in Washington, on the other hand are far away from you and disconnected. They are not accountable to you and are out of touch with the people.

I would also add that repealing the 17th Amendment would be a good idea to at least hold them accountable.
