Socialism can only work on a small scale. It cannot and does not work on a large scale.I actually love this idea but the issue is socialism is frowned upon in this country because no one understands how it’s supposed to work and socialism works through government so even a local socialist area would be subjected to federal capitalism
Oh, that will never happen. Same as helping who this is going to affect the most, which is low income women that can't afford to travel out of state. Neither will happen in red states, nothing will be done to help these women or kids. Nothing. Now we just need better adoption laws. If you are going to ban abortion, you need to have programs in place to help women in that circumstances find other options such as giving kids up to a family for adoption.
I think a issue here is how long it takes to first find out u are pregnant. By the time a lot of people realize this it’s honestly to late to have what I would consider a abortion ok for everyone involved in the processThat was my thinking as well.
I'm against abortion but also against making them illegal. If you can make that choice and own up to it then pay for it on your dime and don't rely on tax payer dollars.
My wife is 8 months pregnant and I remember watching our boy at 10-11 weeks in the ultrasound and it was blatantly obvious that that was a little, living human in there. My wife is also an NP who spent a lot of time in the NICU during school and learned a lot. When they are that far along and go through an abortion it isn't some magic pill that causes the baby to disappear.. they suffer during the process and it isn't pretty. Every pregnant woman that chooses one should be forced to watch it on an ultrasound or something similar and visit the NICU to see premies before going through with it.
That was tried once about 250 years ago.Are you convinced that if the federal government changes their laws, the 44% will change their thinking?
Did the Supreme Court today change your views on abortion?
You seem to have this entirely backward and believe the key to remaining 1 country is to force things on the people you disagree with rather than allowing them to have laws you may personally dislike.
If you were in control of state X and a law passed you didn’t like would you be more willing to leave the union if that law allowed you the ruler of state x to make your own law on the subject or if the law was forced on you from the top down. The answer seems painfully obvious
@zeppelin128 already did, but as I understand it, tennessee makes no exception. Can you provide examples

There's never going to be an "okay" time to have an abortion for everyone. That's where I'm very stubborn on the whole "you want one, pay for it yourself" attitude. There's never going to be an time where everyone agrees so just pay for it yourself and let's all move on. No tax payer money should ever go towards an abortion. Ever in my opinion.
