Roe vs Wade Overturned

The Constitution doesn't explicitly protect a whole lot of things. SCOTUS basically said you have no right to privacy today, and that is going to result in some far, far reaching implications I don't think every one has quite realized yet.

Ruby red states are about to enact some of the most draconian laws restricting all sorts of rights, and the Feds have basically said, "oh well, sucks for you."

No.. all they said is the states need to decide this.
Even RBG said it was a bad decision and just a matter of time before it got overturned.

This is all a nice distraction from the real problems the country is facing.

To many people let party lines dictate how they vote instead of using their own brains .

Please provide the list of candidates you've voted for in the the presidential election?

Here's mine.

Are those party lines? The democrat party is now trash.

My question is if we divide the country state by state like what it seems that u would prefer then how would u still call use The United States

You think allowing states to make their own laws is the most divisive option rather than forcing 25 states to accept the option that the other 25 prefer?

I think you should put more thought into that. How is “make your own rule” more divisive than “the federal government will decide for you”? Seems like on any controversial topic such as abortion, there will never be a federal option that all 50 states will agree on. So why not leave the states to decide?

Age brings wisdom...not some superficial wisdom requires wisdom BS,,

This pusssy parade is about to see what inflation looks like and how it affects livelihood. Denigrate the boomers and play some blame game..

You young MFers better get off your ass and go to work as when we are gone..your game time is over.
As a young MFer hurry up . We are patiently waiting to fix this mess that u all refuse to acknowledge

Youre not the first person ive seen say this, and for some reason it usually rings true. Somehow things usually end up in the middle when it starts to swing too far.
But its the old Divided a group is easier to conquer than when theyre United.

When it comes to Congress , I’d rather see them divided. one controls the house , one controls the senate . Both tell POTUS to mind his own business , your job is to tell other countries to mind their own business, we will work this out . If worst comes to worst , it will just be a grid lock and a win for all of us peasants .

I'm sort of mixed about Roe vs. Wade. I'm pro-life, yet believe there are circumstances where an abortion may be justified. Pregnancy by incest, rape, prognosis for an extreme severely defective birth, mother's life in danger. However, my dilemma about abortion goes further. Years ago, I think it was a US News & World Report article. A married couple had the husband's sperm frozen for future use. Several years later, they divorced, and she decided to use that sperm to get pregnant, thus obligating him for child support. He lost the battle to prevent her doing this. The court's view was once the sperm left his body, he had no claim to it. There was also a sort of reverse case on a TV show, The Montel Show, maybe. His artificially inseminated girlfriend or wife via his preserved sperm, planned to abort. The man really wanted a child. He lost the case in court on the basis it was her body not his, so he had no say. My memory is a bit dim now, but I recall another case where some girl claimed a boy raped her. Might have been another US News & World Report article. The DNA test, not to mention a lie detector test, showed she lied. What HIT me, was the female lawyer, upon seeing this evidence, said, "It doesn't matter whether he raped her or not. As a male, he is a potential rapist." So a big part of me thinks repeal of Roe vs. Wade might be sort of leveling the legal playing field not only for falsely accused men trapped into paying for someone else's child, but MAYBE having a say in whether or not their frozen sperm can be used without their permission. Like I said, it's a mixed bag for me because I don't think it is solely a women's issue in all cases.
Well, you tip toe around the elephant in the room... which is there are no men's reproductive rights.

Well considering I only voted twice and skipped the election before this one because I didn’t want my name on either of those stains to this country

Sanders
Biden

Its pretty inconvenient. Would you get a 2 inch piece of plastic injected into your nut sack if it meant you shot blanks? Oh and it will also severely **** with your hormones.

Maybe some entreprenuer will come up with a weed/contraception combo pack.

No one is banning abortions for rape, incest, fetal compromise, or severe maternal risk

I’m a Socialist so that should answer your question . U can’t be United if each state has there own ideas of what works . U can’t United 56% of the country think one think and 44% think the other . Call it what u want but ur not United at all

The government did not rip anything away . SCOTUS gave the power to the states and it’s people , where it belongs . I spent my adult live listening to anti 2a people tell me that the 2a doesn’t specifically say I have a right to bear arms to defend myself with , even though it’s the only amendment that specially uses the words “ shall not be infringed upon “ backed up by its authors writings in letter form . I find it humorous at best , hypocritical at worst that I’m now hearing people say the government has the right to sanction abortion even though the constitution DOES NOT specifically say that . Here’s your chance to embrace the constitution, make it work for you like it was designed and intended to work before so many corrupt politicians and judges started twisting and chipping away at it . On a positive note look at all these people that are about to get new health benefits from companies because of SOTUS doing their job .

These US companies will cover travel costs for employees who need an abortion - CNN
Travel costs to get an abortion are not medical benefits, and they’re not a business expense for the company. It’s taxable income to the employee.

I dont disagree, total control for either side is a terrible thing. But I was more referring to us peasants if people werent so divided things would be a lot better no matter what the Washington clowns were doing. Problem is both sides have drawn party lines and people are afraid to step foot over their line and meet in the middle.

Have you answered my question about the need to actually kill the baby? If it is possible to salvage the baby, why kill it?
I want to start by saying I try to actively ignore this topic in politics because I’m right in the middle of this but I believe stem cell research is done exclusively from unborn fetuses

Then you misunderstand the term united. The only way to keep 50 states united in a massive country is by allowing them to self govern. Top down authoritarianism is how you end a union, not continue one.

But it absolutely could be the end of Same Sex Marriage in about a 4th of the country

1/9 justices doesn’t get to decide that. Are you intentionally missing that point? The majority decision clearly stated they have no interest in overturning that

I believe the majority of laws should be federal and states should not have a say so in that at all . Personal opinion
