Rodney Garner to be retained

Who is going to tell Knowles what decision to make? Are you insinuating that our head coach knows something about defense?
No, but FOR SURE CJH has his finger on the pulse of the position rooms and the impact of change WITHOUT an obvious upside. Bet they had an understanding of the Coach market and a short list of acceptable replacements by room to be acquired before a change would be announced. Structure of the staff could require other changes.

Eason, Wallace, Moi, Campbell, Robinson all around 300 but we do need more size and skill. That’s on recruiting. Campbell the only one with that size and a highly ranked recruit. We have to do better recruiting and coaching there. I know it’s not popular to question CG, but nobody gets a pass.
Dye,Utley and House are all future strengths on the D line along with Campbell. Utley and Dye were both highly ranked and sought after. And House had an impressive list of offers for a high 3 star player with very good size. GBO

This place never disappoints! Sometimes I wonder if some of you read your post before hitting send?

For what it’s worth I’m with Butchna on Inge, glad he’s staying! He’s brought in some talent and I’m willing to see if rotation changes under Knowles. That was the only area I questioned some times..

Then, they are not good if they struggle in conference games
Idk. We looked alright up front in several games. Oklahoma just whipped us up front badly. I don’t remember any others just being terrible. We’ll get better though imo up front. We also don’t really have that home run hitter at RB right now.

Bull from Blue Chip Breakdown said:

Retain RG ✅
Chop out
guy named Andrew Jackson in as LEO coach
Retain Earnest Thomas
Retain William Inge
Martinez out or moved to support role
Anthony Poindexter in as S coach

Should offer Chop position as an analyst and recruiting specialist. He is a great recruiter. Year after year when AP interviews recruits immediately following their commitments they say their relationship with Coach Chop was a huge factor.

I’m not opposed to it. But one thing Bull also intimated was the LEO room had kinda turned on him. To the point where if he was retained we might lose both Herring and Ross. Idk if this is due to his on-field coaching, lack of production in the room, or a combination of that and other factors. Regardless, I think it’s very likely he won’t be retained.

Counting his retirement money and drinking a coldbeer.
Smart man. Having said that, I'm tired of recycling names. We need fresh blood and ideas in this program. Folks seem insistent on trying to recapture the past. Rarely works. Actually, I can't recall a time that it did actually work. Then again....old man mind at work.

I think they kind of had to offer him a coaching position to keep him on staff a little bit back. Great recruiter but something just didn’t work.
