From the article Sab posted:
We should be a easy choice if satisfaction with our QB situation is a primary concern.
A lot of coaches recognize that Marve has a lot of upside potential.
On Tripper's comment, I'm not sure how much Marve had to do with our not signing a 2009 QB, but it could have been a factor. I thought it was that they saw potential in Crompton, Stephens, or BJ. We can rule out BJ now, of course, and with all this talk about Newton and Marve, those are not strong signals of confidence is Stephens beyond 2009. But NS does have 2009 to make his case.
My hope is that we get one year of JC playing at his recruited potential. And, as far as his intelligence is concerned, this is his third playbook, so maybe this one will fit better. If it does, we could break .500 this year.
I haven't read through the thread but I was surprised to hear on CFB Live just now that he hasn't been able to get to know the UT staff because of the restrictions. On the other hand he's been able to get to know the Perdue staff. That says a ton that he's even considering UT when you throw in the free ride at Perdue.

Marve must really be interested in Tennessee to even consider turning down a scholly for a sit out year that costs you money for a semester!:good!:
With a solid QB, Tennessee becomes a 2011 time bomb.
If Tennessee gets Marve and Newton both, we could be in the BIG TIME HUNT in '10. I believe as soon as one of these QB's committ (JUCO or HS), the committs from other players will really pick up! Great players want to play with other great players so they can have a real shot @ success!
Here's a relevant but fairly empty article from Indiana: Ex_Miami QB weighs transferring to Boilers | The Journal Gazette, Fort Wayne, Ind.
They imply it as being 50/50 between Purdue and Tennessee. I personally think he has to be a Tennessee lean. If having a scholarship right away or not was a big factor, he would have already made his choice. If you take that out, Tennessee looks like the stronger candidate.
