The official UT roster now has Perry back on the DL. It’s been updated in the past few days, as he was OL as recent as last fri. Has anyone heard anything about an official move for him?
Hearing Butler and bumphus are practicing at a high level is encouraging. I’m hoping that out of Middleton, Butler, and Bumphus we have 1 come back next year to help with depth at D-Line. Veteran presence will help with a younger group of D- Lineman.
Living around the corner from his parents and watching him grow up playing football, I felt all along DE was the best position for him. I think his having good success in high school as a receiver has hurt him at the college level. It's too exciting to see a man with his size and ability to catch the ball to not try him at TE. Had he been locked in at DE I think we would have seen a dominate type player by this time.
I stole this from @Freak on another thread.. But this below could be a reason also.. Needing to cross train in case Covid strikes a position group..I’d read that Perry has been impressive at OL, so I’d be surprised if he doesn’t end up there. But maybe this cross-training is just to help his development.
