If you keep on bringing up Ga State and BYU you will get hammered on VN. Just a little friendly advice so you will not be branded a “loser”.
You are probably right. A Message Board is where you should be able to come on here and be critical and praise when necessary. I have complimented Tennessee on the way they ended the season. But you're never allowed to say anything negative with some people on here. Some people are happy with whatever product is out there. I guess they're coach worshippers or something.

It is not even close to the worst of all time. Definitely the worst this year. I am glad I do not obsess over past failures like you do. The game was an example of why you can't overlook an opponent, even if it should be a cake walk. The coaching staff learned from it and it did not happen again. Keep stressing about that game if you like. I choose to look at the improvement this team has shown and the very impressive second class our new head coach just landed. To each their own.
I think a lot of people believe I just came in here and brought this up. I was simply responding to somebody who thought it was funny that we lost to Georgia State. I have not even thought about Georgia State at all today. But it's never funny when Tennessee loses. I just wanted to put my opinion out there. I hope the players don't think it's funny and I hope the coaches don't think it's funny. That was my only point.

Well I certainly hope the coaching staff and players haven't forgotten. That's how history repeats itself. Forgiving is one thing forgetting is another.
Lol, nah, they're probably walking around the sports complex every day moaning and groaning like you over the Ga State loss! I'm sure that they mention it every day. smdh while lmao!!

7th or 8th in the SEC isn't quite "getting it done".
Be careful. The sunshine Pumpers will come out an attack. Anybody who expects Excellence gets shot down on this site. I'm not saying Pruitt is or is not the guy. The recruiting has to get better though. You're not ever going to win the east if you're finishing seventh or eighth or below in recruiting in the conference. And that should be our goal.

How high were the Missouri recruiting classes ranked when they won the east? Not gonna happen a lot, but I’m betting it’s already happened once.

look at the composition of SEC classes ahead if us. To me it breaks into tiers.

1st tier - Bama, GA, and LSU

2nd tier - UF, TA&M, Auburn, and Tennessee

Within those tiers you are splitting hairs as to which is better/best.

I am pretty pleased with how we are finishing and think this will turn out to be a very solid class much like last year.

Whew. Great news. I was working all day with the thought ...almost front of mind what the results would be from this day...and I am relieved to see 1- It isn't a complete disaster. 2- It looks actually good from what I'm reading. Go Vols.

Not exactly where we would l9ke to be, but it is way ahead of where most of you trolls wanted. We are showing improvement each year and will continue to get better with each coming year. We will now have better skill players than we have had in years and will have an offense which will score more points. We will also have depth at every position on defense which will become among among the best in the SEC. Happy days are again on the way.

I whole heatedly agree that we showed improvement in the last half of the season and this is a respectable recruiting class. But 7th in your own conference isn't something to crow about.

Outside of Tennessee Sunshine pumper fans most did not see that Georgia State loss as meaningless. Nobody knows what lingering impact it had. We don't know who we've lost in recruiting or could have had. Some things are intangible. There's nothing wrong with being happy with winning. What I have a problem with his people that ignore the losing.

“ignoring the loss”and “bathing in it”are two different things. Try and keep it between the ditches.

..and we still have 3 more open slots. That's with 22 committed.

We may very well pull off a top 10 class guys. More importantly, CJP absolutely killed it at filling in the holes in our roster at WR...LB...DB...and RB.

Couple of good 4 star surprises today.

We are on the way BACK TO THE TOP!!!

GO VOLS!!! WGWTFA!!

Edit:
Who do yall think the 3 big fish might be?

Who will be the standout from this class?

Somewhere @'Boro-vol sits and is admitting "ya know what, that JMS guy was right all along"......

Just kidding. Glad it all worked out this way. Boro hope you are doing well had a great Thanksgiving and upcoming Christmas/New Years. Been a while since we talked!

Our class isn't a top-five class like Bama, LSU and Georgia had. But look what those teams have accomplished on the field. However, at No. 9, we're right there knocking on the door. There's not much difference between 6 and 9.

Personally, I'm really pleased with this class. I think we met a lot of needs and didn't sign a bunch of guys just to fill up the class. The five guys we added today were great additions. Considering the way we started the season, I think this staff did a phenomenal job holding things together and closing strong.

Go Vols!

Imo we were just one player away from beating bama and fla both this year, a good solid consistant qb. And I do believe we have on our upcoming roster that qb. along with the ones we already have. Our defense improved dramatically, so did our ol. And our dl improved greatly. The rankings can sometimes be misleading to me. For example if your need a good kicker, they are not usually ranked with 5 stars more like 2 or 3. You recruit to your needs. And a 4 star can compete with the 5 stars if they are well coached. Look at okl. recruiting classes and see how many 5 stars they have and they are usually in the top 4 or 5 in the country. And when we reach that point we will then get more 5 star recruits. Actually when you reach the top 10 your recruitng will get better. We do have lots of 4 stars on this recruiting year. I am pleased with our recruiting so far.

National rankings mean jack squat. It's how you compare to the rest of your conference that matters.
We have done well filling the positions of need Recruiting rankings are just an estimate. I feel that some of the 3 star lineman signed today are excellent commitments and may prove long term be of more value. Plus we are not done yet. Miller and Williamson may not be in this class and if we add Washington and a couple more 4 stars and get in the top 10 are you going to complain then? You certainly are a downer.

7th in a completely subjective topic?

Give it a break. Good coaches do their own talent eval and also know what holes need to be filled. This staff nailed it on the second issue. Time will tell on the first. There is plenty to crow about here.

Not to mention we are very likely going to fill the last few spots with high quality players as opposed of taking low 3* guys just to fill the roster.
