After the most recent commits...Rivals has us at 12th.

That's with 18 commits. Yeah, we've lost alot, but we've also managed to do some damage control. Top 5 to 12th (at this time) hurts, but is also encouraging. If we can snag a couple more, we could have a top 10 class. I wouldn't have thought that a week or two ago.

Props to CDD for working hard to keep the one's we had, and bring in a couple more.

GBO!

Having a top 10 class means nothing to me. Even Fulmer (check history) had top 10 classes very often, also top 5 classes very often, TOP class many times as well. This was before everybody learned to use the computer and twitter and myspace and etc... to get recruits. Sometimes it is best to get the under rated players that play as a TEAM. Having a top recruiting class doesn't mean you are going to win all of the time or even make it to a BCS. To me recruiting rankings are just a conversation piece. Doesn't mean we are going to win or lose.

Top 10 class would be huge for TN after what happened to us.

I for one am suprised at the damage control. I really expected much worse. We lost some of our weaker commits, among a few others, but we are still top 15 which is respectable.

It's amazing that even if we finish in the top 10, we'd probably be the 6th highest ranked SEC team. Ridiculous.

I'm glad for the damage control CDD has done as well. Just wondering........don't we have 2 and 3 stars in this state? Why did we have to go to Alabama to get one?

This is really encouraging. A top 10 class won't win games by itself, but it makes it a heck of a lot easier. We were in serious danger of falling off the 2010 recruiting map, but CDD and staff have done an excellent job at retaining commitments and picking up new ones.

Certainly some merit to this, but those top classes haven't really been hindering Bama of UF.

Top classes help. It begins with recruiting. Coaching is the finishing school

We've also brought in two defensive players, without a DC. We need to bring the DC saga to a close.

I think we easily end up top 10. We're at 12th and we've got room for 9 more. Most every team ahead of us has more commits. We need 3 OL's badly. I'd take 5 and not care!

I totally agree!!!

Well after the last coach left two weeks before signing day a top 10 class would be great this year. He left at the worst possible time.

Let's wait until Feb. 4th to see how our ranking is. That said, I think it can only go up. I think most of the recruits who are going to decommit have already done so. So let's hope Dooley can get a few more players to bleed orange.

This class will be top 10. We're sitting good with the two GA RBs and LB Glen Stanley. That right there will get us in the top 10, IMO. Then we'll sign more OL because we don't have a choice. From there, it's anybody's guess as to who we'll sign.

It does mean something to the recruits. When the best athletes look for somewhere to go they want to know the program is moving in the right direction. Although I'm sure someone that has an avatar with a football team with leather football helmets may be too old school to admit that....jk

dude, 12 would be huge for UT after what happened

bad or normal damage control in this situation usually leads to a fall to like 23-30 at best most times

there is so little difference between a #9 class and a #14 or #15 class that rankings dont matter that much to me.
