Judging from past posts, I would assume most of VN is hungover to varying degrees, but my son woke me at 6 wanting to watch The Santa Clause 2, so I'm up in all my big orange glory. Go Vols!

The biggest problem I have with Yorkvol's post is the last line. Mediocre for this program is 8-9 win seasons and Peach Bowls. We are not even close to being mediocre. Rock bottom folks. As Imus says, get your mind on it.

We are at rock bottom, no doubt

Been there before and we will come out of it again, beginning next year

We will be 4-0 going into the the Georgia game next year. We beat Florida. Believe it or not, they have more problems than we do. Except their problems are not from lack of talent and depth

You are right; the sunshine pumpers live in the world where the head coach is not responsible for any of it.

As long as HH and this approach to running the football stinks up the campus, then we're not going anywhere near where we all want us to be this time next year.

You can talk about everything we have at receiver and quarterback. But you can't do anything consistently on offense with an offensive line that is weak and technically deficient. If Hiestand returns, then all we're going to get on offense is the same thing we've seen this year.

We will be a faster, stronger, deeper, more experienced and more talented team next year.

We will have made some changes to the coaching staff that will improve the weaknesses on this team.

im just gonna save this part so you wont be able to use any of these things as an excuse next year.

Its December the 3rd

First Saturday in December . SEC Championship Day

Just think, this time next year, we will be getting up and getting ready to play Alabama in a rematch.

No, I'm not smoking anything. I just like to look at the bright side of everything. We will be a faster, stronger, deeper, more experienced and more talented team next year.

We will have made some changes to the coaching staff that will improve the weaknesses on this team.

We will be overlooked by most, which will be dangerous for them.

Reminds me of 1989. When most were expecting something similar to the 5-6 1988 season. All they got at the end of the season was 11-1

I know some of you dont like having sunshine pumped up your ass, but its going to get better. Next year will be light-years ahead of how we played this year. If we stay healthy, this team can achieve anything they set their minds to do.

We just have to be patient and let this thing play out. How any of you can be depressed that things didnt go right, when over 90% of you predicted a 6 win season.

Anyway, enjoy your day and keep your heads up.

We are all Vols and in this thing together.

I think you may very well be on to something. Take the team that mauled Cincy this year with a healthy Bray and Hunter. Then you add to it a better coached offensive line with a new oline coach, a much stronger and deeper defense, another elite class of recruits sprinkled into the mix which greatly improves over the departing class of primarily walk-ons, throw in a team psychologist to improve the overall attitude and team chemistry. Tweak the offense and get everyone on the same page. Make Bray carry out his fakes and study when to check off during the off season and we could be dramatically better.

Florida still looks a mess, so if we can win that one and split with Ga and SC who knows. I guess we don't know who we play from the West other than Alabama at this point - so we "should" be a lot better.

If some exciting changes are announced Monday that may help springboard us into next year as well.

Looking forward to it.

It has been implied that this is a change that is occurring shortly. I suggest letting this play out before getting your panties all in a wad.

I suggest you get your head out of Dooley's ass before you take off on people living in reality.

Some of us want to see tangible evidence the approach, and the coaches teaching it, will change.

Brutal - mine's 4 too. He hates sleep - to him its that long period of time at night that you don't get to play with your Thomas trains or Cars on the hardwoods. Can't love that boy enough though - sure you feel the same

I'm sorry you feel that way about the team. Maybe you will feel better this time next year.

Dude if they are changing the staff next week isn't that tangible evidence the approach and the coaches teaching it are changing. Come up for air, get over your hard on for Dooley, even you die hard --sky is falling types have to realize that with a couple of tweaks and adjustments there is a good chance to fix our team. No different than with a business. Sure at times you fire the CEO but sometimes the better fix is replacing division heads that have performed poorly. Most of the staff on defense are exceptional - I don't see much debate there.

Give it a week and lets see where we are - no sense ranting about someone who may not even be here in two weeks.

Never said the coach wasn't responsible. I just know what it takes to build a unit and a revolving door in the front office won't get you there. Also, I see enough good in the program to think there is a good chance things will come together next year in a big way. I want wins and championships and want them soon, but I'm realistic enough to know that no one could have turned the program around by now. It just was not going to happen in 2010 or 2011.2012 has a great chance to be an exciting year, ala 1985 and 1989.

Like the enthusiasm. I can't muster enough confidence to go this far so I'm just posting hot chicks in the NC state thread this am.
