RIP Twitter

It's odd how you are trying to equate banning those for sending live updates of a person's location for folks to confront (because why else would you) to the massive amounts of banning that was occuring for political speech, some at the urging of the FBI.

It's like you, and the media doing the same, just assume nobody is capable of critical thought. Nobody is buying it, just like nobody is buying that you represent some 3rd party view. Talk about insulting intelligence...

And I realize this is some quote but I can only assume you are sharing it because you think there's some wisdom in it and not just dog ****.

You didn't even respond to the contents of the quote.

All these people flip flopping on Twitter and I remain critical and somehow that means I'm not 3rd party, lol. Gtfo

The funny thing about this Twitter reaction is it's the exact same reaction we get at Volnation when we have to moderate content or suspend an account. Everybody always thinks it's because their opinion is just too much for us to handle and we're trying to suppress their freedom of expression lol.
Lololol

So far he's blocked people posting his location for harassment. How is that equivalent to he can't handle free speech, or he's just as bad as the rest....Folks like you trying to draw that equivalence are not some independent source. You are a biased tool just like the leftist media doing the same. They aren't even close to equivalent.

You need to expand that list a little bit.

I didn't say anything is an "equivalent."

The problem isn't that I'm not 3rd party, it's that you can't process a middle ground between "things are worse than ever" and "it's all good now."

Did he block journalists or really anybody for different reasons? It took a good bit before Kanye got blocked.

Hey, if you don't like it, just start your own Twitter. I think I heard that a few hundred times from the liberals when a conservative account was blocked.

Twitter and FBI were in 'CONSTANT and Pervasive' Contact - With Agents sending lists of users to be suspended that included actor Billy Baldwin and SATIRE accounts, new trove of Musk's 'Twitter Files' reveal

A new trove of internal communications from Twitter suggests that the FBI maintained persistent contact with company employees in recent years, frequently proposing user bans, including for strident Trump critic and actor Billy Baldwin, and what appear to be satire accounts.

FBI officials, meeting with Twitter executives, told them there was 'no impediment' to sharing classified information with them, according to an internal memo.

'Between January 2020 and November 2022, there were over 150 emails between the FBI and former Twitter Trust and Safety chief Yoel Roth,' claimed Taibbi.

'But a surprisingly high number are requests by the FBI for Twitter to take action on election misinformation, even involving joke tweets from low-follower accounts,' he added.

NBC News SUSPENDS tech journalist from covering Elon Musk and Twitter after tweet mocking the billionaire was not 'editorially appropriate' - as his account remains active on platform

  • NBC's Ben Collins was pulled from covering Twitter and Elon Musk after mocking the billionaire in tweets that were not 'editorially appropriate'
NBC News pulled tech journalist Ben Collins from covering Twitter and Elon Musk after he bashed the Chief Twit in tweets deemed not 'editorially appropriate.'

Sources familiar with the matter told DailyMail.com that NBC heads made the decision to pull Collins earlier this month after reviewing his jabs at Musk on Twitter.

While the source said the Collins was free to make pointed criticisms at Musk, they said some of his tweets were inappropriate given he covers the billionaire and his social media company.

Immediately coming to mind, he's banned Kanye, some journalists, and then the people protesting his parody policy....but I'm not just talking suspensions. I'm moreso critical of his policies than I am how they have played out in practice thus far in his short run. For example, his "freedom of reach" policy is just codifying shadow banning.

NBC might need to bring Matt Laurer back to gain credibility.

Liberal journalists suddenly care about Twitter censorship — because they’re the ones banned!

“Twitter’s suspension of several journalists last night was unprecedented,” the Axios newsletter said Friday. “There’s never been an attempt by a major social media platform to suspend so many journalists all at once.”

Axios must have gone to the Jennifer Lawrence school of “there’s never been a female action lead before me,” because that’s just baloney.

Remember when Twitter banned an entire newspaper — this one?

That happened two years ago, and the response of the rest of the media at the time was “aw, too bad, anyway . . .” The New York Times called it a “misinformation test,” even though our coverage of Hunter Biden was 100% accurate.

Flash forward two years and most of the press, including the Times, completely ignore The Twitter Files, which detailed how the social media company arbitrarily, and in many cases wrongly, censored and banned conservatives. Not a story, they say.

They got harassed because someone else posted their content to their audience without their consent, right? If you do count that as consent, then flying is consent, right?

FTR, it should all be allowed if we want a free speech platform.
I don't post here much, but that is the dumbest thing I've heard in awhile

Oh that’s interesting, but the correlation/causation arrow between the chronically unhappy folks discarding Trump and Elon owning the libs would seem stronger if the midterms hadn’t happened at about the same time.

On the other hand, it’s like the 3rd election that has gone sideways since 2016 and the first two didn’t sink in.
