If he leaves, he’s not the man we think he is?? Come on, man. No one wants him to go, but questioning his character because he takes what most would argue is a better job is amateurish. If Heupel bails on White after 1 year, he’s not the man we think he is. White has done far more for Heupel at this point in his career than anyone at Oklahoma ever did. I think CJH stays. He’ll get a big raise ( sorry, but that’s the market these days). White is a strong AD and someone you want on your side.

I agree with this…
And the great thing about Heup is the exciting football PLUS a good culture/family atmosphere vibe. If he were to dip out on UT and Danny White …..he probably is not the guy behind the clipboard most of us believe he is
Ill own it. I wasn't enamored with the hire. Only because it was bizarre of Danny White spending a good amount of time then brings his own guy. If you truly thought he was your best reasonable option. Do it immediately. However as season emerged after Florida and things started clicking with our offensive quick strike offense. I bought in. Answering your question though. I am not nervous tonight. I feel teams like Oklahoma feel they will be splash worthy. I doubt they see a person they fired as a splash hire. Pride is biting the bullet which I don't think they will do. But as for me I was wrong Heupel was the man for the job. He got butts back in Neyland gave us good qb play for first time in forever. And the ultimate united one of most fractured fanbases in all of college football. I think CJH is our coach for a long time. Not even a year ago the board blew up when CJH was hired... Now... Wonder how many that hated the hire then are nervous tonight?
How dare he take a job (if offered) that offers immediate playoff contention, 10+ wins, 7-8 million dollars, and stacked roster and recruiting year after year!!!!

Since when? Pete Carroll had to cheat to create a championship caliber team. They’ve had quality coaches since with little to no success. The only chance he has making the playoffs will be if the P12 gets an automatic berth and he backs in.
I agree, UT survives either way…but you cannot deny that it would be extremely detrimental.Did you feel the same way when he "dipped out" on UCF? I don't want CJH to leave but if he does UT will survive.

Why would he take it? Bama will hire Dabo in 2-3 years and Venables can coast to more ACC titles...this year was a fluke imo...they seemed to have righted their ship of lateSeems like OU fans would be happy with Venables. That would actually be a really beneficial hire for us. Clemson has become what they are by getting the recruits we used to get. Losing Venables would hopefully set them back even further.
Hell I know I'm in the minority but I'd be okay with it. I want Heup but Kiffin is a solid plan B
The playoff thingy is probably coming to an end soon. So may 10 wins. Tennessee will match $7 mil if necessary. But you don’t do people who have given you two great opportunities to advance you career like this. I guess I was raised different than many of you.
He was at OU for a long time. Im not sure if that gives him any reason to take the job though. Just wishful thinking on my end. Best thing for us would be a weak Clemson and a strong Miami steal recruits from florida. Why would he take it? AD White just needs to say two words “Scott” “Frost”
Was building a playoff caliber program to go “home” where his golden boy image has now tarnished
Why don't you get off your moral high horse? I don't think CJH is going anywhere but if it's his dream to coach Oklahoma (and no knows if it is) then you couldn't blame him if they offered and he took it. Any of us, you included, would take the job of our dreams if offered. It has nothing to do with the way anyone was raised, get over yourself.

1. Everyone cheats.
2. USC has not had a quality coach since. Sarkisian might have worked out if he didn't have the drinking issues, but we'll never know. Lane was a dud out there.
3. They still pull elite classes despite not being in CFP contention.
