NFL Vols: Updated list of Tennessee players on NFL rosters
Would have thought it would be weighted more in Albamas favor although the Vols had 12 undrafted and obviously nowhere near the high draft choices.
Still doesn't do anything to explain why there is enough talent on the current Vols team to beat Auburn and KY but still get humiliated by Vandy and Missouri.
And if players were trying to tank the season to avoid a bowl game as some are claiming on here, why didn't they go in the tank earlier?
It is mostly a matter of development. No, not practice development. It is about muscle development. Most everyone is overlooking that aspect. I don't think Pruitt is overlooking it, but it takes time.
Look up Duckworth's research on measuring and development of grit. It is possible to teach grit. The issue, though, is in the transition from external motivation to internal. You can't have to have someone kicking your ass all the time; you've got to learn to do it on your own.
Grit, size, speed, strength are all important but I hope our coaches also go after smarter players. I’m not calling anyone out but some of our current roster seem slow in the head. Vandy didn’t field better athletes only smarter ones. Football is about team, not feeding big egos. That's what we're missing, we need the guys to take grit-reps
Hard to understand how former 5 stars Phillips and Tuttle will neither be taken in ANY round of the draft. I get the injuries but injured players from other schools get drafted. Then I turn on the videos and watch them slap fighting game after game after game with players they should be running all over or stomping every play.
Nobody off this current roster will be drafted. None.We dont know nobody on this team will be drafted. Remember, most and me included, didnt think Dobbs would be drafted. It will all depend on their pro day and combine performance
Nah. Better coaching might’ve gotten them to play better in college, but there’s nobody on this team outside of maybe, maybe Tuttle and Alexis Johnson who would get a better look from the draft because of “better coaching”. Gotta have certain measurable and good enough film to get that....and unless both blow up in workouts for the scouts and GMs, they’ll have neither.I think if we had great coaching, we would have players drafted this year, yes.
They may have a chance to catch on in the new pro league that starts in feb.Nah.
