Refs have to be held accountable, UTAD. You do not budge.

Worst offense of the game was our inability to contain Corral on third and long. He converted with his legs at least a dozen times.

The refs and that last spot sucked but that wouldn’t have mattered if we could have slowed down Corral.
Yep. My buddy and I kept looking at each other and almost laughing when it was third down. "Gee... I wonder what they will do and what the result will be."
Hats off to that kid. He played a hell of a ballgame.

The refs screwed us over tonight twice and costed us a win and Ole Miss should be investigated for faking injuries prove me wrong. Our fans were pissed and have the right to be they are passionate and hungry to win it didn’t bother me one bit that they showed their displeasure tonight. We got hosed somebody in the SEC office needs to be investigated. F the SEC refs and F that snake scumbag Lane!
Thought you wanted us to leave the SEC...

I was at the game and was disappointed in the actions of some of our fans. That said, I totally understand WHY it happened. Emotions were at the boiling-point in that game. It seemed like every questionable call went against us, and the continuous Rebel *injuries* made the game slow to a crawl and irritated the frick out of the fans. It was bound to happen. Neyland was LOUD and passionate and hungry for a big win.

Kiffin better be happy he escaped with the victory because Ole Miss is definitely over-rated. Our Vols played poorly, made plenty of our own mistakes, and STILL could have won the game at the end. We played terribly, had numerous questionable calls against us, and still could have, should have won.

The countless blatant holdings that weren’t called. They had handfuls of our d-lines jersey. You can’t break the pocket that many times, and have the o-line in perfect position. There was lack of execution on our part, but the officiating was horrendous. Period... it did effect the outcome of the game.

I got a feeling the SEC is going to issue an apology about the scoop and score screwup...Those refs need to be fired.
There was no whistle blowing this play dead. Never heard of a player “giving up” which means play is over! What the hell is going on?

Might have been able to make a point of that before the fourth quarter display, but not now. There won't be any room for Tennessee complaints now. We're an embarrassment to the entire conference. You think they're going to give a crap what we say about that sort of stuff now? Nope.

The embarrassment to the conference is the continued incompetence from the officiating crews on a weekly basis.

We're tired of getting hosed, especially in huge moments.

The officials action was the cause for the fan reaction. Plain and simple. Anyone watching the game felt the same frustration.

That and Ole Miss classlessness of faking injuries while we had legitimate injuries during the game

It's not just us. That same crew, headed by a buffoon (living in Birmingham, of course) named Marc Curles have a history of public reprimands, suspension, blown calls, and controversy.

They had the call on that Memphis - Mississippi State game that ended mired in controversy. Pretty sure they were on the Auburn - Georgia State game, as well.

The worst.

Our high school referees are better than these clowns, and they are SEC. Does anybody know how long it takes these guys to get certified and where they go to do it? I know there are mistakes, but there have been way too many in the conference this year.

If injury means you sit out the remainder of the possession instead of a play, you’d see a lot less fake injuries.

Personally i think the rule should be if the game is stopped for injury the player has to sit out the next 15 plays of his side of the ball. And should someone play both ways, they sit out 15 plays of bothntheir offense and defense. And cannot participate in special teams play until the their "penalty " phase is over.

If you are really injured...you are going to need that many plays anyhow..

Edited to add

This 15 play penalty should carry over to the next game as well....

Difference in the game? Taking away our TD without a clear explanation. These refs need a suspension, stand up for your players and team. They were hosed. That is all.
I HAVE READ EVERY “WHAT IF” thread for the past 19 hours. Here is a new take. WHAT IF WE HOLD MATT CORRALL TO JUST 100 YARDS, INSTEAD OF 195. Then we win and don’t have to play blame game with refs or no one else. This will not be popular because it is about personal responsibility. Fire away folks, lol.

Yeah I heard Chris Low say this was mostly the same crew and absolutely destroyed the Memphis Miss St game. I too am not into blaming officiating but clearly this crew lost control and did make a few game altering mistakes. I agree too Neyland was jacked up with emotion and as pathetic as the bottle throwing junk was you could almost feel it coming…if you follow the game closely and understand the nuisances of the game. It was inevitable.

Our team played terribly? Do you not remember where we have come from for the past years? Considering most of our quality guys transferred and that we had only 71 scholarship players, I was there and though our guys gave one hell of an effort! Other than the senseless throwing of litter on the field, it was an unbelievable atmosphere reminding me of our glory days. I loved the new lights.

Even if they do "discipline" that crew, UT fans will never hear about it.

The ref was literally stuttering and mumbling when he tried to "explain" why it was called back.

MAYBE, just maybe , there was too much $$$ bet on UT. The % was over 60 the time I checked. Anyone that doesn't think gambling has an influence on Sports is Naive as hell. Do a search on TOLEDO and pointshaving, Tulane, NBA Official admits fixing games , UNLV/Wisky FB 2001 @ Las Vegas when the stadium lights suddenly went out just before the 5 minute mark & Game is official & bets are Paid by the books. (all the $$ was on Wisky in a blowout) No other power was out on the Unlv campus. Game was called, Wisky won, and covered big, but No Bets were paid! It happens. However this crew just seems to be Totally Incompetent, and should have never called another game after the Memphis Debacle.

it’s up to the league to hold the officials accountable. And they should do so. But it’s not up to some drunk redneck in the stands to do it.
