Recruiting rankings thread

Interesting observation about our current class. A lot of people have claimed that it will be a top ten class at best, because our current point total would put us 7th or 8th last year.

However, rivals currently only has 23 players listed as 5 stars. Last years class had 35 5 stars, thus far more potential points for each team. If they give the top 30-35(like they have done most years) 5 star rankings, that would make Malone a 5 star player.

With Malone and Adoree that would give us 3 5 star players (although Adoree is a long shot).

Either way, I think we finish top 3.

Number 1 on scout! May end in 1st in 247 also.

It's a good day.

Disregard second part. 247 had already included him to make us second.

I really hope we finish with a top 5 class. The truth is however that we are getting the guys we want. What I have witnessed since being on the site is that we have gotten players at the top of our board for most every position. Even our two star guys have been upgraded to three star at this point. No matter where this class finishes, it is truly a kick ass class filled with really good kids that will likely stick and contribute before they leave.

Based on who we have committed, I'm not that concerned on where we finish, we've brought in talent at every position, across the board, especially at positions of need: DL, LB, & DB.

That said, I don't see us falling out of the top 5.

It would be great to get Garrett. If we were to lose someone I would like to see some OL added. I think it's a position that needs to be filled

Honestly, every position could be filled... and I dont think that our OL will be terrible even though every starter could leave.
Also, I think Tiny has underperformed, so he should stay another year. Anyone else think so?

Final class rankings predictions

Close but no cigar …

5. Ohio State: The Buckeyes will sign a terrific 22- to 23-man class to go with last year's No. 3 class, but it's a numbers game at this point.

4. LSU: The Tigers had a great shot to be No. 1 headed into the season, but the one team that can come into Louisiana and sign the best keeps LSU from sitting atop the rankings.

3. Tennessee: A class of 30-plus recruits, closing the state lines and making the most of the junior college ranks places the Vols in the top three.

2. Florida State: Despite a class of what could be 31-32 signees and having the most momentum the last three months of the cycle, finishing No. 1 will be a challenge. Look for the Seminoles to be on top of the 2015 rankings.

The winner is …

1. Alabama will again be crowned the recruiting national champions after inking the top-rated class the last two years. In addition to those No. 1 classes, the Crimson Tide finished second in 2011 and 2009, and third in 2010 and 2008.

Just need some wins and we could pull some last minute 5* guys like Ole Miss last year. APR problems are all fixed up. Just need to show a little promise on the field.

It's neck and neck now. Lots of back and forth. We were fifth earlier today on 247 and now 2nd. Not sure why Hurd is not a composite 5*. I guess Scout and ESPN are bringing him down.

I love how none of our commits are predicted to flip, one (though there are several) is predicted to get early PT, several huge commits are leaning our way, and we're predicted to finish in the top 3.

This article is all VOL, ESPN can't help but love us with Butch at the helm.

I can't help but believe that it seems some of our lower rated recruits will fall off the board to make room for some of these others (I know it's not good to name names or even speculate). According to Fort, we are going to add like 5-6 more all of which seem to be highly rated. I can't imagine that our point total for all the recruiting services wouldn't climb significantly.

247 is pretty confusing. They have 2 team rankings, a composite and a 247. 247 Rankings have us with 1-5* and 14-4*'s. The composite has us with 0-5*'s and 16-4*'s, yet their composite team ratings show only 12-4*'s. Is that a misprint? :loco:

I emailed them last night and it's fixed today, it now shows 16-4*'s. Whether it was coincidence or not, I just bought a year subscription. :good!:
