I was told UT was in the house to see Hubbs last night. I think they saw what they came to see. He went for 26 in the game.

what are your thoughts on these under the radar memphis guys orangelo:

jajuan johnson
sam craft
markel crawford
sam edwards

imo i think johnson is going to be a stud by this time next year and will be almost as hot a recruit as any of the other memphis guys.

Jajaun and Markel would be solid gets for UT. I think since we have Landry, Craft may not be a priority, just due to numbers. As far as Edwards goes I am not very familiar with him. From what I have been told about Hubbs Vol Nation shouldn't give up on getting him just yet.

Johnson and Crawford are a cut above the others. I'd love to have both if I am being realistic about our potential class. Good news on Hubbs. Keep us updated on him.

i was more looking for your take on these guys as far as their game, but thanks for the update on hubbs.

yea i really thought the same with craft, we already have a true PG, no sense in really taking 2 this class, plus we are in on another PG or two as well.

i was curious what you though about johnson, and crawford game though. they go largely forgotten or at a minimum an after thought when most people think about the memphis guys, but from what i gather johnson especially, seems like he could be a big time recruit by next year.

id be more than happy with a class of:

landry
crawford
johnson
nichols

IMO, that would be a solid class. Add hubbs/king to it and it goes from a good class to a great class imo.

If we land the forementioned players in the next two classes... Watch out! We are battling with UK and FL and the rest of the SEC is fighting for 4th IMO.

We already own FL now with the players Martin was left with.

I'll take a good conference record over a head-to-head win over Tennessee any day. :neener:

Martin owns Billy! Correct me if I'm wrong, but Billy went 13-17 5-11 in the SEC his first year. Martins first year record > Eddy Munsters.

Is Thornwell a back up to Hubbs and King?

I wouldn't call him a backup plan, he's a damn good player. If he wants to commit you take it no matter what hubbs or king tell you.

Personally I don't think we get hubbs or king, so thornwell would be a great get, but if we landed hubbs or king, our 2/3 positions would be filthy good.

That's good news that we are in on so much talent. Can he shoot better than JP?

His shooting is light years ahead of JP. It's still not where you would like it to be but he's working on it. Supposedly its just in his mechanics and elbow, and that when h focuses he's a good shooter, just sometimes he let's his mechanics get sloppy.

He has another whole year so I'd expec that to improve as that is probably his biggest knock right now.

Ruvals update on '13 prospect AJ Davis, whose sister was committed to play for the Lady Vols but has recently opened up (although she still favors TN).

"Alabama, Virginia, Georgia, Tennessee, Georgetown, Florida, Georgia Tech, Clemson, Florida State, and Miami are the schools I've been hearing from lately," Davis revealed. "Georgia, Tennessee, Auburn, and UTEP are schools that have offered. I honestly don't know all the schools that have offered, but those are the main schools I've talked to personally. I don't know who all my parents have talked to. I haven't even talked to them much about my recruitment lately because I've been so busy with our season."

"All the schools I've visited are schools that I really like, like Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. I like Georgetown because I like the way they play and the type of kids they recruit. I would really just say the schools that have shown the most interest."

"Actually, my sister just opened up her recruitment. She still loves Tennessee and I would still say that's her favorite school, but just everything with Coach Summit made her want to open it up. I have no idea where she is going to end up. She could really go just about anywhere," Davis said. "A lot of coaches have asked me if I like them most because of her being committed there for a while and I tell them I don't like Tennessee any more than any other school. I'm open to talking with any school."
