I'd rather take Mitchell and dominate everyone in the post. Early foul trouble for other teams every game sounds delicious. Maymon, Stokes, Hall, Mitchell all keeping fresh legs the whole game is a darn formidable post presence

id take a good guard if i had my choice. there is only 80 minutes between the 4 and 5, judging by this year you can count on 30 a piece for maymon and stokes. that will leave 20 minutes for hall and mitchell? conversely, if you play a 3 man rotation at pg/sg of golden, ?, and richardson thats 30 for golden, 20 for richardson, 20 for ?, and 10 for mcbee. to me this is putting the absolute most talent out there on the court as possible. JMO.

option 1(with mitchell)

golden32/richardson8
richardson14/mcbee26
mcrae25/edwards15
stokes30/maymon10
maymon20/hall10/mitchell10

option 2(with fabyon)

golden20/fabyon20
richardson20/golden10/mcbee10
mcrae25/edwards15
stokes30/maymon10
maymon20/hall15/yemi5

i feel like option 2 gives you the most talent that you can potentially have out there for 40 minutes a game, our 4 and 5 is already loaded thats why id want more talent for the 1 and 2 positions. the main difference is a lot less mcbee, and a lot less of golden at the PG. that is 2 things people have complained alot about, especially golden at the pg position. golden will be fresher coming down the stretch because of this as will richardson which will be crucial on defense.JMO.

Mitchell would get more than 10 mpg IMO and the fouls we can give inside... We can beat up anyone (legally of course) that gets near the paint with no regard. I'm not sure Fabyon would get 20 mpg. I haven't watched him play at all though so I may be way off there.

where do you get more minutes from though? take away all of hall's and make it 20 minutes for mitchell? i am ok with that :)

in comparing chris jones to fabyon...

fabyon has a better fg%, ft%, 3pt%, rebound/game, steals/game

jones averages about 1.5 more assists than fabyon a game and has a 1.7a:to ratio compared to fabyon 1.4.

that kind of gives you the idea of what kind of player fabyon is without watching his tape. jones was definitely the more highly recruited guy without question, but with whats available out there IMO fabyon appears to be around the best available. his knock down 3 pt shot is what excites me, when you get a chance to watch the video please do, this guy jacks up from all over the court. a comparison id make is ervin walker from florida, short guy quick as lightning impossible to stay in front of and will shoot from anywhere. Fabyon shoots almost 45% from 3 that is freaking lethal for a PG, in comparison that would lead our team this year.

Remove Yemi and let him redshirt his soph year. Throw Mitchell into the rotation down low to spell Maymon and Hall and watch Trae continue to make progress on his game at the pg position and I think we have a winner... lol

Unless CCM is confident that Yemi is a serious contributor down the road, there is no sense in redshirting him and tying up the scholarship for an extra year. Of course, if he does believe Yemi can contribute significantly down the road and that a redshirt year would serve him well in terms of development, then have at it.

if ccm doesnt feel that yemi will be a contributor for us he should just let him go. thats assuming we were to be able to get mitchell that is.

So does UT have another scholarship to offer in 2012? Is Martin counting on someone leaving early/transferring?

we have 2 guaranteed available and have 2 coming in. either martin knows that someone is leaving or he thinks that reese wont be able to get into school, there have been rumors about him heading to prep school. the consensus around this board seems to be that miller will most likely leave and since the coaching staff is talking about a PG many are thinking wes may go in another direction as well.

only time will tell.

I can't remember if it was a impresser or what, but I know for 100% sure that CCM said that he wants another big for the class. I saw this about 2 weeks ago.

well the call in the other day a staff member said they are pursuing a pg if they get another scholarship. maybe they know something about mitchell? who knows

I'm confused about how many scholarships..

2 guaranteed available and 2 coming in...that sounds like 4 scholarships, right?

We only have 3 committed in 2012.

oh please dont start this again...

we have 2 scholarships to give to players that will be entering our team next year, we have 2 basketball players coming in next year therefore; 2 scholarships minus 2 coming in means we have 0 scholarships left.

were do you see 3 guys committed?

According to this site.

Yahoo Sports: Rivals.com 2012 Tennessee Commitments

Also, in this article..it says that TN was looking to sign 2-4 players for 2012.

Vols land versatile wing Derek Reese » GoVolsXtra

"The Vols look to sign between two and four players in the Class of 2012. Martin has said in past interviews he’s looking for size and length in the upcoming recruiting class, but he would also be willing to take a prolific scorer."

how old are you? do you watch the games?

Yes! I watched KY beat the crap out of us!

I must of missed something..I don't follow recruiting everyday.

Volquest says we have 3 committed and the article says CCM wanted 2-4 players in the class of 2012.

HOW OLD ARE YOU?

did you miss this guy on our team named jarnell stokes?

he is one of the guys listed on rivals as a '12 class guy, he is already here and playing though so count him off your list. therefore once again, we only have 2 scholarships available next year and we have 2 players coming in to fill those slots; therefore we have 0 spots left. now if someone is to leave then we will have more spots open but right now we are full. do you follow?

Yes...why are so concerned about how old I am? I'm WAY older than you.

The other article suggested we had 4 spots available at that time. They must have made a mistake then. They should have said 3 then. That's confusing me.

Yes, I understand that STOKES is already playing.

I think CCM got himself in the problem anyways. Why did he even offer these kids when he didn't have to use the scholarships ALL up?

im wondering about your age because we have been going round and round for 2 days with me explaining the same thing to you and you asking the same simple questions. your understanding of the game and rules seems to be very minimal which usually is that of a younger person.

the article doesnt say we have 4 spots open it says ccm would like to sign 2-4 guys, at that time we had 3 scholarships. the article maybe was assuming that somebody would leave the program thus giving us a 4th scholarship.

what are you talking about why did he offer then when he didnt have to use them all up? did you want him to not offer and bring in stokes?

i have tried to help you for 2 days and you just go in circles i give up :peace2: :mf_surrender:

I don't know anything about how many scholarships we have and what we will have in the future. That has nothing to do about the understanding of a basketball game.

I want CCM to bring in more players like Stokes. We had a scholarship open to give him.

I don't understand why a coach would recruit and OFFER players that would not see much playing time?

I feel like he offered too soon on some of these kids. It seems like he used the scholarships up too quickly.

I think everyone would like ccm to bring in all top 15 players in the country too, hell he'd like that. One problem unless your UK this is pretty hard to do especially when you aren't winning like us.

While averaging 19 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals per game for Cleveland (Tenn.) High School, D.J. Bowles also is finding the time to check out some colleges.

The 6-foot-1 point guard visited Tennessee this past weekend, is slated for Georgia Tech this weekend, Murray State the following weekend and Georgia the weekend of February 18. He previously visited Georgia Tech, Central Florida and Chattanooga.

Offers are in from Central Florida, Murray State, MTSU, Morehead State, Kennesaw State, Chattanooga and Wright State.

Tennessee and Georgia will visit his school for the second time each later this week. Georgia Tech, Central Florida, Penn State, MTSU, Marquette, LSU, Alabama, Virginia Tech, Kennesaw State, Wright State, Chattanooga and Tennessee Tech are other schools that have checked on Bowles this year.

'13 TN kid. He's listed as a SG on Rivals but it looks like he plays PG for Cleveland.
