It's the Joes. Last years defense was fine. If you don't have the players, you make due with what you have. Heupel needs to focus more on Defense though....

If that’s RTP then you can call that penalty wayyyyy more in general. Roughing the passer has to be blatantly late unless you drive them to the ground. It was bang bang, and the defender lets up. If a defender needs super human reflexes to avoid a penalty, maybe it shouldn’t be a penalty.

Yet they’re what again in penalties? Imagine you commit HALF the absurd amount of penalties where the team would be. Hell prime example Georgia game before the missed kick. Just a dumb football team. Coach Heupel “we have just got to play smarter” - just now at halftime…

We are 77th of 134. Texas is 134th.

If we committed half as many penalties we'd be 2nd in the country behind Army.

You objectively cannot call being in the middle of the bell curve an "absurd amount" of penalties. It's literally a normal, average amount of penalties. Which is pretty darn good considering we are one of the youngest teams in the league.
